IPNews-Monrovia-Liberia-31 October 2018: A local Charity Organization Basket of hope Liberia operating in Lofa has embarked on the distribution of stationary materials and other school going items to vulnerable children across the seven political districts in Lofa County.
Mr. Mohammed Kelleh is the Executive Director who once stood in the vanguard of logical advocacy to ensure justice in the names of top security officers, including the county prosecutor that were mentioned by a notorious criminal Charles Morlu commonly known as T. Spoon in aiding and abetting criminal activities in the county.
The situation at which point in time that led to the appearance of both the County Prosecutor Lurther Sumo and Mohammed Kelleh in the war of words on both Voice of Lofa Radio and Kintoma radio that brought Lofa under a huge spotlight thus giving rise to the special investigation team from both the ministry of justice and the Liberia National police headquarters.
The astute executive director, said his organization is constantly contemplating on making a generational change that will improve the human capacity of underprivileged children who parents cannot easily afford.
He said, the basket of hope-Liberia organization is committed to restoring human dignity and recognizes the rule of law in the execution of their duties relevant to the transformation of Liberia in the wake of the pro-poor agenda that seek to empower the poor in order to ray themselves from poverty to prosperity.
Mr. Kelleh told news men that over the past years with the support of EU-CAFOD and DEN-L Land rights, Plan International Liberia, Seleke Sesay Foundation USA, and Girls Not Brides his organization has undertaken several initiatives and Dunor funding projects with small and efficient staff along with few volunteers in the area of child protection, Gender based-violence, women empowerment, peace building and Dialogue, Access to justice,care for Ebola survivor and advocacy throughout the county with some extension in Monrovia and its environs and has since been cooperating with all government ministries and agencies for smooth implementation.
The head of the organization said, the organization is currently the promotion transparency and accountability and creating major awareness/advocacy to End child Marriage, Empower adolescent girls, women and youth through formal and informal vocational training among vulnerable Ebola orphans, HIV AIDs victims, Streets children, Ebola widows, Girls Children and the community at large and strongly oppose to all forms of violence, hatred, prejudice, discrimination of race regardless of your physical or financial status .
He outlines that his organization is working in conformity with the universal declaration on human rights on the pillars for excellent service ,passion and professionalism, Ethical behavior and integrity in the implementation of the sustainable development goals that calls for better feature for all irrespective of your background.
Mr. Kelleh in his concluding statement urged everyone to rise against the act of violence against women and children and report a rape case because rape case on like any other case is not to be compromised by neither family or community dwellers as he called on bother National and international partners to help with funding in order to boost the effort of the organization .
