IPNEWS-Monrovia: The Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency (LDEA) Bomi detachment has arrested a 38-year-old man identified as Oldman Paul for being in possession of 11 plates of compressed high-grade Marijuana with street value of US$1,936 or its equivalent to LS290,400 at the Klay checkpoint in Bomi County.

According to acting LDEA Commander, Papa Gumbo, suspect Oldman Paul was arrested on Friday, July 15, 2022, while en route from Jenehwaynay in Bomi County to Montserrado County.

Col. Gumbo further narrated that suspect Paul is a commercial driver and was on board a Nissan 4- Runner Jeep with some Passengers traveling along with him.

He at the same time stated that after their preliminary investigation, he was informed by the suspect that the drugs arrested belonged to an unidentified passenger who was on board his vehicle and currently on the run.

Special Agent Papa Gumbo explained that this brings to two the numbers of arrests made since he took over Bomi County DEA Detachment as acting LDEA Commander.

He attributed the successes made so far to proper cooperation and collaboration from his officers assigned across the County while outlining the lack of mobility, Office space, and low manpower as challenges confronting the smooth operations of LDEA in Bomi County.
