‘Firestone Presence Doesn’t Economically Benefits Liberia’, Kenya top-notch Activist alarms

IPNEWS: Kenya top-notch lawyer and activist, Prof. Patrick Lumumba discloses that Liberians will remain waiting until Jesus’ second coming if Firestone’s presence does not economically benefit the country in the nearby future.

Speaking on OK FM Wednesday, May 8, 2024 in Monrovia, the professor said he looks forward to a day where rubber will no longer be exported from Liberia and Firestone will ensure that the citizens benefit from its presence in the country.

He maintained that if this is not done by the Liberian government, even 10 years from now, there is absolutely no prospect for the lives of the citizens and the economic improvement of the nation.

According to him Firestone had operated in Liberia for years but the people of Liberia had not been able to benefit from the resources through the economy something that need to be taking serious by this new administration headed by President Joseph Numah Boakia.

The Pan Africanist urged the Liberian government to ensure the presence of energy that will allow industrialization for the massive economic empowerment of the citizens and create a boost for the country’s domestic revenue generation.

He also recommended to the Unity Party administration of President Joseph Boakai to not export the nation’s primary goods at the detriment of the people, noting that the consideration of these innovative ideas will improve the economic condition of the citizens in the next ten years.

Professor Lumumba further challenged Liberia to see and copy the examples of her next door neighbors, how they are managing their natural resources to improve the lives of their citizens and do the same for Liberians.

He said if Liberia must move ahead there is a collective need for all Liberian to come together in making sure that the right things are done.

The Kenya lawyer who is in Liberia to participate in the National Trial Judges Association Confrance that is taking place in Liberia told Liberian that as part of his working he will be coming back in Liberia in June of this year the explain to Liberian about the importance of Pan Africanist movement.
