IPNEWS-Monrovia: President George Manneh Weah, has left the country for Ghana to participate in the Extraordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
According to an Executive Mansion press statement, President Weah, who departed Saturday, July 2, 2022, joined his colleagues from the Sub-region for the two-day Summit which got underway on Saturday.
The West African leaders are expected to discuss wide range of political and security issues affecting the ECOWAS Bloc.
While the President is away, the Minister of State for Presidential Affair, Nathaniel McGill, will act as Chair of the Cabinet in close consultation with Vice President Chief Jewel Howard Taylor and via mobile contact with the President.
President is expected to return home on Monday, July 4, 2022.
