IPNews-Monrovia: Liberia’s Vice President Madam Jewel Howard Taylor has described Bong County senator Henry Willie Yallah as a “Green Snake in a bag”

In a leaked audio obtained by the Independent probe newspaper, the Liberian Vice President is heard explaining that Bong County Senator Henry Willie Yallah is in the constant hobbit of undermining her efforts in the county; although she didn’t cite any instances.

Madam Taylor is quoted as saying in the leaked audio that has gone viral in the county that: “Forget senator Yallah; he doesn’t respect anybody. He is good at undermining people.”

“We never knew he was a green snake that we were putting in the bag” VP Taylor emphasized.

VP however records that Senator Henry Willie Yallah was elected in 2011 due to his father’s constant appeals but the senator has forgotten.

The former Bong County senator and now VP explained that she and current controversial Bong County Superintendent Madam Esther Yamah Walker vigorously campaigned during the 2011 General and Presidential elections for Senator Yallah to be elected due to the numerous appeals by Senator Henry Willie Yallah’s father, Mr. Edward Yallah.

The first Liberian Vice President in the leaked audio openly accused the tough talking senator for allegedly accepting monies from the Turkish mining company, MNG Gold for what she calls “personal benefit.”

“Leave that one; we will dance it here in 2020 because he is not coming back here.

“I will campaign against him. I am aware it will be a different thing for him in 2020” Madam Jewel Howard Taylor assured.

Madam Jewel Howard Taylor was firstly elected as Bong County senator in October 2006 and got re-elected in December 2014 before the National Patriot Party’s  merged with the Congress for Democratic Change in 2017, a quest that brought her to the vice presidency.

The Bong County senator has vehemently been criticized by Bongese for not doing much in the county since he got elected in October 2011.

Senator Henry Willie Yallah who recently crossed over to the governing Coalition for Democratic Change, CDC, is heard in an audio telling Bongese; “I was elected for 9 years. If you get vex with me, you will get vex for nine years. You will get ugly for 9 years”.

Senator Yallah is poised for re-election as he faces other aspirants in the county, including youthful Menipakei Doumoe, a Consensus candidate of the Collaborating Political parties-CPP.

Despite the numerous complaints from citizens of abandonment, Senator Henry Willie Yallah re-election quest is being dented as his District Coordinator in Suakoko District; Mr. Robert Taylor has resigned from the team.

Mr. Robert Taylor cited he has been criticized on countless occasions due to the alleged poor performances by the Senator.

“The decision to resign came as the result of the alleged underrepresentation by Senator Henry Willie Yallah at the Liberian senate since his election in 2011. I find it very difficult to market him in this political era” Mr. Robert Taylor noted.

All efforts by this paper to get the senator has proven fruitless as several text messages and calls have been placed to him and has received to respond including his official spokesperson, Mr. Jeremiah B. Wilson.

Mr. Victor Jah, a resident of Gbarnga, says senator Yallah’s re-election is very tough.

Annie Flomo, 29, a resident of Kpaai district, feels the youthful senator has lost the confidence of the people. “We cannot even waste our time behind him again” she concluded.

Mary Kollie, 35, from Totota also said “I don’t know from what context the VP said senator is a green snake put in a bag. What I know is that he has not done much to convince us for re-election”.
