To Restoring Quality Education, Rep. Johnson Gwaikolo Wants Professional License For Teachers

IPNews-Monrovia: In an effort to resuscitating Lineria’s underperforming education system, Nimba County District#9 Representative Johnson Gwaikolo is calling on authorities at the Ministry of Education (MOE) to license school teachers across the country.
Representatives Gwaikolo said licensing of teachers will dramatically change the downward trend of education which remains a national challenge.
He said as part of this reform process, there is also an urgent need to set a minimum standard to ensure quality education learning environment of the country.
Addressing a team of Legislative reporters yesterday, Wednesday, August 7, 3019, Representative Gwaikolo whoโ€™s also chairman of the Houseโ€™s Standing Committee on Education and co-chair of the Nimba Legislative Caucus said the Ministry of Education must ensure that the minimum standards for education are urgently set in this country.
Representative Gwaikolo comments games in the wake of huge challenges the country’s education system is continuously faced with.
The Nimba County Legislator also proffered a similar recommendation for the District and County educational systems in order to improve the educational sector.
At the same time, Rep. Gwaikolo has further backed citizens of Nimba county over recent decision to prevent the only scan machine to be taken from the Tapata Hospital in Nimba County for transportation to the JFK medical hospital in Monrovia.
Rep. Gwaikolo noted that the citizens of Nimba County was overlooked by authorities from the ministry of health something he said is degrading to the county.
