IPNews-Monrovia: House Speaker Dr Bhofal Chambers says the current economic downward trend in the country, ‘ is not the workings of CDC led government.
Justifying his blind eye look of the continued hardship in the country, at a welcoming program organized by some staff of the Speaker’s office, for his returned from the United State of America, Speaker Chambers said Liberia is faced with serious economic challenges which require the collective effort of all Liberians irrespective of political affectations and should not be left with the CDC led government.
He argued that the current administration under the stewardship of President George Weah didn’t create the bad economic state of the country, however, the government is doing all it can to fix the economy.
The Speaker comments were laughed out by some marketers who wonders how could the underperforming economy not be attributed to the CDC when taxes on essential goods we’re still been charged heavily at various ports of entry coupled with the escalating effects of the exchange rates on the Liberian market.
In all this, Speaker Chambers blamed the previous regime for what he described as ‘bad economic policies and which he said have plunged the country into economic despair, a situation which could only be fixed if Liberian put aside their differences.
