Liberia: Liberian Entrepreneur Donates to Evangelist Blahyi’s Journey Against Violence Rehab

Visiting Liberian entrepreneur, Eric Oppong Twum, has donated vocational training materials to the Journey Against Violence (JAV) vocational training center in the Mount Barclay Community, Monsterrado County.

The items donated included student electronic tool kit, chemical technology materials, clinical materials for the health care system there, cooking materials, plumbing and carpentry modern text books, four set of two-way communication device, solar lights among others.

Even though, the cost of the items donated was not mentioned, but Twum, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Africa Union Trading Company, Twum, noted that his company’s donation was predicated by pervious visit to JAV headquarters.

According to him, the donation is meant to enhance the workings of JAV. He told the people at JAV that his company stands prepared in addressing some of the challenges confronting JAV operations in Liberia.

“We will join hands with you in combating narcotic drugs from the society,” he assured.

Journey Against Violence (JAV) is owned and operated by Evangelist Joshua Milton Blahyi. His center provides mental care and vocational training to mainly at-risked and illegal substance abuse youths in Liberia.

JAV trains those addicted by drug in Christian upbringing. Accordingly, JAV takes people addicted by drug for one year six months.

In addition to getting those young men and women off drugs, JAV rehabilitation center also runs programs aimed at transforming those Liberians in vocational skills development, healthcare system, among others.

Hundreds of Liberian youths are there seeking mental recovery.

Blahyi promised to use the donated items for their intended purposes.

For his part, Stanley Baysah, spokesperson for those at-risked youths there, expressed their thanks and appreciation for the donation, which he said came timely.

The visiting Liberian businessman is in the country to meet President Joseph N. Boakai.

He is interested in making more investments in the nation’s health care system, education sector and road construction as well.
