Fire Kill 30 Gas Lotters

IPNEWS: A gas tanker accidentally explores along the Gbarnga-Monrovia Highway, claiming the lives of several individuals and many more critically injured.

A tragic incident has unfolded in the Mulbah Hill Community along the main Gbarnga-Monrovia Highway, leaving several individuals dead and many more critically injured after a gas tanker caught fire.

In a live video podcast by Spotlight Online TV, the harrowing incident occurred around 5:30 PM on Tuesday when the gas tanker, which had earlier fallen into a drainage ditch near the Upper Room Church, suddenly burst into flames.

Eyewitnesses from Totota recounted that community members, numbering in the tens, had rushed to the scene to assist in removing the tanker from the drainage while others saw it as an opportunity to loot gasoline.

However, their efforts were abruptly halted when the vehicle erupted into a massive blaze as the intensity of the fire caught many by surprise, leaving some trapped in its path.

While a few fortunate individuals managed to escape, albeit with severe burns, several others were not as fortunate, losing their lives in the tragic blaze but local authorities and emergency response teams rushed to the scene to manage the situation and provide necessary assistance.

As of now, investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the explosion and assess the extent of the damage.
