“No Blind Support for Runoff”-CPP Cummings Vows

——– Reiterates Doubtful 2023 Election Results

IPNEWS: As the race to the runoff gets closer with multiple endorsement crisscrossing the country, the Standard Bearer of the opposition Collaboration Political Parties (CPP) Alexander B. Cummings, says the CPP will not ‘blindly’ give support to any of the two political parties going towards the November 14, runoff elections.

Speaking on the Voice of America (VOA), ‘’Day Break Africa Programme’, Monday morning, the CPP leader said both former Vice President Joseph N. Bokia and incumbent President George M. Weah has engaged the CPP at a meeting held at his 15th Street residence soliciting a possible support come November 14, 2023, but insisted that the CPP will just not give of the two candidates their support but will genuinely base them on the overall interest of the Liberian people.

Mr. Cummings also stated that that there are substantial issues he believe if addressed will begin to change and reduced the sufferings of the people of Liberia-stressing that whether the opposition, current ruling party or former ruling party,  the CPP will want to have discussions around the issues of the Judicial and the rule of law, women empowerment, youth capacity building, and that the selected party must publicly commit to the Liberian people that they will address those underlying issues that continued to back-step the country’s advancement.

“This week the CPP will announce to the public by Tuesday or worse case Wednesday which political party the CPP will support during the November 14, 2023 run-off elections.” Mr. Alexander B. Cummings told the Voice of America.

Touching on his stands over the recent October 10 vote counts, Mr Cummings emphasized that he’ll makes no apologies for engaging the two political parties headed to the runoff election slated for November 14, 2023.

The former Coco-Cola Executive and ANC standard Bearer noted that the CPP believes that the results announced did not reflect the will of the Liberian people-narrating that the just ended October 10th, 2023 polls were fraudulent and that the CPP is doing an investigation to understand what happened.

He said it is understandable in 2017, he was not known by anyone in the Country and was able to pull a 7% of the votes, while after six (6) years he got just less than 2% of the total vote counts.

“This makes no sense to the CPP and we are going to investigate. The opposition polls, fake polls, and real polls showed will be investigated.”   Mr. Alexander B. Cummings told the VOA. By: Fred Mills

Last week, several Liberians lavished praises on the Standard Bearer of the Opposition Collaborating Political Party (CPP), Alexander B. Cummings, for his continued strides for the sustenance of peace and tranquility in Liberia.

Although details of the meeting have not been made public, Mr. Alexander Cummings in a short social media post on his officially Facebook page read: “Today, I was pleased to separately host both Pres. George Weah and former Vice President Joseph Boakai at my residence, at their respective request. The CPP will continue to engage both the CDC and the Unity Party as we determine our position for the runoff, in spite of our concerns raised with the NEC. We will be speaking to the nation tomorrow in details as to what will inform our decision as the CPP.

I want to thank both leaders of their parties for visiting and for the fruitful discussions we had today.”

A week prior to this meeting, Mr. Cummings termed ongoing results being announce by the National Elections Commission as ‘sophisticated and a difficult scheme to trace and prove’.

Mr. Cummings Vow to expose the evil Geniuses involved, and their co-conspirators, suggesting that his CPP was cheated by the NEC in alignment with some other hidden hands.

The former senior Coco-cola Executive outlined several reservations with the October 10 polls outcomes and promised his supporters that the CPP will investigate and bring to light what has happened.

“Let me assure all of you that we will continue to do everything within our power to investigate and bring to light what has happened. I promise you that no matter how long it takes, everyone involved will answer,” said Mr. Cummings.

Meanwhile, three Liberian opposition political parties in the just ended October 10, elections have called for a forensic examination of the Presidential ballots which put the Ruling Coalition for Democratic Change of President George Weah and Unity Party of ex-Vice President Joseph Boakai in the run-off.

The Collaborating Political Parties (CPP) of Mr. Alexander Cummings, the African Liberation League of Sara Beysolow Nyanti and Dr. Clarence Moniba of the Liberia National Union have written the National Elections Commission (NEC) expressing serious misbelief over the outcome of the 2023 elections results.

In their letter to the NEC and signed by the three Political Leaders, it said many Liberians, including partisans, supporters and well-wishers are concerned about the results of the Presidential poll for which they want the NEC not to destroy the used and unused ballots after the announcement of the final results for forensic examination.

While thanking the NEC for conducting the 2023 elections, the three parties noted, however, that if there is disbelief or doubt over the outcome of the elections, especially the Presidential results, it is necessary for such disbelief and doubt to be cleared by the conduct of a forensic examination of the October poll ballots.

The Parties said they believe that the forensic examination of the ballots, which will be at no cost to the NEC, will give the needed assurance to the Liberian people about the fairness and transparency of the October 10 poll.
