IPNEWS: Montserrado County District ‘7’ Representative, Solomon George, is likely running into trouble as a prominent resident threatens a mass action against him if he fails to account for the thirty thousand United States Dollars he received in the name of the District.

Mr. Emmanuel Dahn, the man, who wants to unseat the sitting lawmaker through the ballot box in 2023, told a news conference in Monrovia on Monday that he will mobilize citizens of the District to demand Representative George tell them what he has done with the money.

“He received an initial thirty thousand United States Dollars, but there are no tangibles to prove he used the money in the interest of the District and its people. So, what did he do with the money”, Dahn rhetorically asked during his live news conference.

The development comes in the wake of reports that members of the House of Representatives have again received another thirty thousand United States Dollars each to be used to implement projects in their respective constituencies.

Mr. Dahn said Representative George is accountable to the people of District 7’ and is obliged to tell them what he has done with their money.

He called on the people of the District to come together and demand explanations from their lawmakers. The District ‘7’ representative aspirant said there is disunity in the District and the Lawmaker has made no effort to unite the people.

 “For the past three years I have tried to seek audience with Representative George to discuss matters in the interest of the District, but he remains unyielding in honoring any of my request,” Mr. Dahn noted.

Dahn, a journalist and Chief Executive officer of the JOY FM Radio Station in Monrovia, boasted of what he said are his many achievements in the Montserrado District ‘7’ while Mr. George, who represents people of the District in the National Legislature has nothing to show.

“I own a tuition-free trade school in the District and also own an ambulance that is providing services to sick people, mainly women and children, while Representative Solomon George is receiving monies in the name of the District but is doing nothing in the interest of the people he represents in the Legislature”, Emmanuel Dahn said.
