‘An Attempt to Shift Blame to A Man Unable to Defend Himself Because He No Longer Exists’

–Family Defends Deceased Man Whose Former Fiancée Says He Owned the Gun That Was Allegedly Used in the Killing of Ms. Precious Ireland

IPNEWS – Monrovia: Families of the late Mr. Lauvette A. Williams, Sr, who has allegedly been accused of being the owner of the 9 mm pistol that was allegedly used in the killing of 14-year-old Precious Ireland, have come to his defense that when he died more than three years ago, all his personal belongings remained in his former fiancée’s possession. The dead man’s former fiancée is Ms. Josia Saah, who is said to be a major part of police investigation into the killing of 14-year-old Precious Ireland.

“More importantly, Lauvette died on February 24, 2018. This is more than three years ago; Ms. Saah has since moved out of the house where the both of them lived prior to Lauvette’s demise. All of Lauvette’s personal belongings remained in her possession. Ms. Saah has full responsibility for all of them.”

The deceased’s family further argued: “Assuming without admitting that the gun belonged to Lauvette, Ms. Saah upon Lauvette’s demise assumed responsibility for all of his personal belongings and should be stopped from dragging a deceased man’s name into a matter that he has no knowledge of.”

They further stated that they consider what Ms. Saah is doing as “an attempt to shift blame to a man that is unable to defend his self [himself] because he no longer exists.”

Ms. Saah’s Son 16-year-old Son Allegedly Kill Precious

16-yr-old Jovanus Oliver Turay, right, allegedly shot dead 14-year-old Precious Ireland on their school campus

Ms. Saah’s 16-year-old son, Jovanus Oliver Turay, allegedly used the gun in question, shot and killed his mate on Tuesday, April 13, on their Cyber-Ed Christian School of Excellence campus.

The victim was the daughter of Dr. Philip Ireland, head of Internal Medicine at the John F. Kennedy Memorial Medical Center.

Last Wednesday, April 14, at the Samuel Stryker Funeral Home, where Precious’ remains were taken on the day of the incident, it was observed that she was shot twice at a very close range on the right and left sides of her neck.

A representative of a local newspaper on the scene disclosed that a bullet entry and outlet were observed on the right side of Precious’ neck. There was also another bullet entry on her lower jaw beneath her left ear. This bullet, according to the corona and the forensic team, came out on the right side of her neck, while the bullet that was fired from the right side of her neck did not come out of the body as no other outlet was established on the body.

16-Yr-old’s Father Appeals for Forgiveness for His Family and Son

Meanwhile, in a Thursday, April 15 video podcast trending on social media in Liberia, Mr. Sylvanus Turay, father of the 16-year-old, in tears, pleaded for forgiveness for his son and his family. Turay also begged the Irelands, whom he described as “family” to forgive them for the “unfortunate” event.

“I know that a lot of people are horrified. It’s horrifying disappointing. It’s something that every parent will get terrified about. But I thought to just speak to the hearts of people, our Liberians, parents, children, families, the government, our judiciary every person, every child, adult, a girl or a boy.

“The boy that caused the demise or death of Precious – that boy has killed a lot of people. He killed her, but he killed me and a lot of people. I want people to understand that Precious is like a child to me. I want people to understand that I didn’t get to know Precious from my son’s school. She’s a family. I want people to understand that that bullet took a lot of lives,” Turay as he sobbed on his car steering.

According to him, the incident was “heartbreaking and disappointing.”
