IPNews-Nimba County:  Nimba county District#5 representative Samuel G. Kogar is in the strongest tone calling on Nimbaians not to go the way of Sen. Johnson anymore during political era.

Speaking at the Nimba Intellectual Forum in Ganta over the weekend, Rep. Kogar described Sen. Prince Yormie Johnson as a political player and a dictator.

Representative Kogar is one of the Nimba lawmakers who is strongly against the former warlord’s dictatorship of Nimba county.

“2023 will be the end of his games. He knew that he was elected 2005-2014 and he contested in the 2011 presidential election knowing that he will not win only to sell Nimbaians votes. He went back to the Senate after losing the election in 2011” he said

“In 2017, he played the same tactics after he was again elected in 2014 and he contested within the presidential and representatives elections again just to make business with your votes. But 2023 is the stopping point” he stressed.

During the general and presidential elections in 2011, Senator Prince Yormie Johnson pledged the National Union for Democratic Party’s support to former President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf of the Unity Party and she was overwhelmingly voted for by Nimbaians.

Furthermore, in 2017 while contesting on the Movement for Democracy and Reconstruction and coming fourth, he again supported the candidacy of George Manneh Weah in the Run-off which helped George Weah to claim the presidency 732,185 votes constituting 61.5%.

But Representative Samuel Kogar however feels these acts by senator Johnson is a complete business being done by the Senator for his personal and selfish gains.

Meanwhile, the District#5 lawmaker is urging Nimbaians not to follow Sen. Johnson because they are not goats that can be controlled him (Senator Johnson).

He at the same time called on the Senator to allow the minority tribes particularly the Mandingo among other tribes in the county to serve within the county’s leadership.
“You can’t make the county to appear like it is for you. You can’t act as if you want to reduce our political influence in the county. It won’t work with us. For me, I am against that your dictatorship nature. We will conscious our citizens” he pledged.

When contacted, by the Independent Probe Newspaper, Senator Prince Yormie Johnson described the allegation as a mere propaganda against him by his distracters.

According to an interview with Senator Johnson, he was surprised of Kogar’s altitudes adding that he is noted for undermining people’s efforts in the county.
“I am not only surprised but disheartened. I also wonder why it should be so. His case is like Brutus stabbing Julius. How can I bring someone to political prominence and starts to fight me back” he wondered.

“It is disgraceful, shameful, it is embarrassing. He is a tractor and a betrayal” he continued.

According to Senator Prince Yormie Johnson, he remembered vividly when Kogar lost the primary in 2017 but he (Johnson) used his political influence to allow Samuel Kogar to contest in district#5.

MDR founder and standard bearer openly told the IPNews that he will keep praying for Representative Samuel Kogar to repent from his disgusting attitudes adding that he is being controlled by the devil.
“It is not by his power or method he is acting in. He is being controlled by the devil. So as a preacher man, I will pray for him to change. If he does not change, then it is up to him and his god” he stressed.

The Nimba county senator however admitted that he has no intend retaliate as he remains the political godfather of Nimba County, stressing that nothing can’t deface and dent him in the county.
“He has received no victory by himself. He has come to my house five (5) times to apologize. One of the occasions, he took off his shoes and gave me $200 USD to forgive him. But he has never changed from undermining and stabbing people” he admitted.

Senator Prince Yormie Johnson echoed that the performances of Representative Kogar are clear manifestations that he won’t be retained in 2023.

He named representatives Samuel Kogar, Larry Yanquoi and Prince Tokpa as oppositions to the government and don’t anything positive of this government.

“I am collaborating with this government to make sure that Nimba County can be developed and get its fair share of the nation’s cake. The three of them are extra ordinarily negative. Nothing they want from this government. They are always fighting. No one should give them attention” Senator Prince Johnson concluded.

This was well placed by Hon. Kogar, and thanks for the report Archie.
I can tell you certainly that Mr. Johnson’s leverage is eroding by the day. This is characterized by his unwarranted use of power & use of self-serving political maneuverings to sway things his way.
The just ended Nimba County Council sitting was a case in point, his action to manipulate the process by subjecting the election of the Project Management Committee (PMC) leadership to selection is a flashpoint for conflict. This has further raised the level of resentments about him and his likes.
The people are not happy, most of the delegates at the sitting left with uttered disappointments.
    The Senator’s days are numbered!
