AFL , “Force For Good”; Observers Houston’s Day

IPNews-Monrovia: The Armed Forces of Liberia on Friday showcase various Guidons representing units within the AFL at a colorful ceremony held at the Barclay Training Center in Monrovia.

The Guidons are decorated flags representing various units within the Armed Forces of Liberia.

Speaking at the ceremony, AFL Chief of Maj/Gen. Prince C. Johnson III, said the deactivation of the Army Forces of Liberia Guidons, and the hoisting of the new Guidons clearly points to the progress the AFL has made over the last decade.

He said he was excited over the rapid transformation that the Liberian Military is undergoing, stressing that the AFL will continue to live up to its true value.

The AFL Chief of Staff said with the deactivation of the old Guidons and the subsequent hoisting of the new ones will easily help to identify various units and personnel within the Liberian Military.

The AFL Chief of Staff lauded the immense contributions made by Sgt. Addo Adu Kennedy, a Ghanaian military personnel seconded to the Armed Forces of Liberia by ECOWAS for the role he played in making the design and hoisting of the new AFL Colors.

Speaking on behalf of the Ministry of National Defense, Deputy Defense Minister for Administration Tibi Dickson said the hoisting of the new AFL Colors will help the public in identifying the various officers and the units they belong to.
