” Dialogue Better Than Protest”, LINU Tells June 7 Plan Protesters

IPNews-Monrovia: Opposition Liberia National Union -LINU is calling for dialogue with planners and organizers of June 7 planned protesters.

Addressing reporters at its 16 Street national headquarters, LINU Political leader Nathaniel Blama, stated that it was time to dialogue rather than Protest and called on the protesters to abort further plans.

“Liberia have had a terrible past and experience from our history of Liberia have yielded no fruitful results, but loss of lives and destruction of properties.

“The still remain huge consequences protest actions including unwanted lost of lives and properties and the best way to prevent all of these is to cut off further plans for protest on June 7,2019.” Blama cautions.

Speaking further,LINU Political leader said in furtherance to the party’s wishes for a more stable and democratic Liberia, vehemently registered LINU opposition to the planned protest slated for June 7, fear that it could turn violent and chaotic given Liberia’s past history.

“Let me used this medium to call caution those of our brothers and sisters with legitimate concerns to seek the path of dialogue as the best option for resolving our national problems void of protest by taking into the streets which has in the past resulted into clashes and destruction of lives and properties.” Blama told reporters.

The young Political leader stressed that the economic hardship currently experienced can not be attributed to the creation of President George Weah, but excesses of the former government and the Ebola epidemic which rocked the Liberian economy to a insignificant 2.7% before the coming in of the Weah’s administration.

” Why it’s true that there is a overwhelming concern on restarting the functionaries of the Liberian economy, yet, let’s not forget that the difficulties faced by Liberians today were not the creation of the George Manneh Weah administration, instead, the former administration of ex-President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, an Harvard-trained Public Administration practitioner hugely contributed negatively during her last days of power.

“I like to argue every Liberian to focus more on how investment can come to the country to provide employment, and the creation of an enabling environment for investment rather than creating a noisy environment by a few people to threaten the peace and undermine of advancement as a nation.” He stated.

It may be recalled violence erupted on yesterday when river partisans of the governing CDC and Liberty party prevented the holding of a state funeral for falling district 15 Representative Adolf Lawrence.

Partisans blocked the entry to the Capitol preventing mourners and sympathizers from attending a state function as required by law during the death of a member of the national Legislature.
