IPNews-Monrovia,Liberia-24 August 2018: The Bio Form Health Center located in Mount Barclay has temporarily been shut down for allegedly selling expired pharmaceutical drugs. In a related development, officers of the Liberian Drugs Enforcement Agency has arrested two suspect identify as Sando Doe and his wife Janet Doe for illegal possession of huge quantity of expired pharmaceutical drugs. Speaking at a joint PRESS Conference in Monrovia on Thursday, the DEA Boss Marcus Soko said the value of the expired pharmaceutical drugs is a little over $15,000 United States Dollars. Mr. Soko of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency says the confiscated drugs will be burned, while the perpetrators are undergoing prosecution. Director Soko told journalist that the Liberia Medical Regulatory Authority has temporarily closed down the Bio Form Health Center for selling expired pharmaceutical drugs to public.

Dayrell IPNews-Monrovia,Liberia-24 August 2018: Citizens district #10, Montserrado County are calling for the impeachment of their lawmaker Yekeh Kolubah for what they called violating the Constitution of Liberia. A group of residence from district#10, under the banner ‘the Movement for the Protection of District’, stated that they are currently soliciting ten thousand signatures as required by law to commence the impeachment of their lawmaker. The chairperson of the group, Kollie Kromah spoke to IP-News during the week stated that he was confident that Representative Yekeh Kolubah will be impeached. “we are seeking signatures to impeach Representative Yekeh Kolubah for his continued of violating the constitution of Liberia which remains the organic law of our mother land.” Kromah said. Kollie also narrated that the lawmaker has turned to be a ‘law breaker rather than upholding the law. Representative kolubah holds an unauthorized fire arm couple with his illegal land grab’ in the district are some of the reasons they are seeking his impeachment proceeding. But in reaction to the assertions made by Kollie Kromah , the public relation officer of Representative Yekeh Kolubah, Forkpayee Taylor described those planning to solicit signatures to impeach their lawmaker are noise maker and detractors. Taylor further noted that the office of the Representative is focused on development issues that will improved the lives of the people of district N0. 10 and will not gave credence to group of less busy people. It may be recalled, Representative Yekeh Kolubah, recently participated in the just ended Montserrado Senatorial elections coming fifth out of seven candidates.

The nineteen year old, Christian Tokpah was arrested and charged for murder for causing the death of Adolphus Welgbo, a resident of the City of Paynesville, Red Light, on August 6, 2018 at about 8:00. According to the police charge sheet, victim Adolphus Welgbo owed suspect Christian Tokpah and refused to paid the ten Liberian dollars that led to argument and fight which led to severe injuries that resulted to death. In the detail of offense, stated that in violation of chapter 14 sub chapter A, section 14.1 of the revised penal code of the Republic of Liberia, defendant Christian Tokpah was arrested, acquainted with his constitutional (Miranda’s) rights, investigated and subsequently charged with the crime of murder, for causing the death of a Liberian identified as Adolphus Welgbo in Paynesville Red Light. During police investigation conducted to establish facts and circumstances surrounding the incident, it was revealed that Adolphus Welgbo (victim) along with two others identified as Christian Tokpah and Jonathan Scott who are all street peddlers selling in Red Light Market were involved in a confusion for ten (10) Liberian dollars worth of slipper pins that was given to victim Adolphus Welgbo as a credit to sell and pay back on August 6th 2018. According to police investigation, during said confusion which degenerated into a fist fight, victim Adolphus Welgbo was wounded by suspect Christian Tokpah with a sharp instrument believed to be screw driver. In view of the foregoing circumstances, coupled with the tacit admission of suspect Christian Tokpah to the crime, eye witnesses’ accounts the deceased’s body and other evidence adduced, this investigation has resolved to charge suspect Christian Tokpah with the commission of the crime of murder, to be forwarded to court for prosecution in violation of chapter 14, sub chapter A and section 14.1 of the revised Penal Code of the Republic of Liberia, while suspect Jonathan Scott presently at large, has been charged likewise in absentia pending his arrest.

Lula Jaurey IPNews-Monrovia,Liberia-24 August 2018:The Judiciary Branch of Temple Justice and the House of Representative, up on Capital Hill in Monrovia are continuing their power- clash on legal legitimacy certain constitutional provisions which came out of an ongoing submission of a bill of impeachment of Associate Justice Kabineh Ja’neh. The writ of summons was issued to the House of Representative to appear before Her Honor Sie-A-Nyene G. Yuoh on August 18, at 9:00 A.M., to show cause why the petitioner’s petition as prayed for should be granted but refused to appear on grounds that the Justice in chamber proceeded in error, yet, acknowledged of the receipt of the writ of summons. The court ordered the clerk to secure the letter in the record file document to be read. According to the letter from the House of Representatives, the communication under the signature of House speaker Chambers, stated that ‘the House thinks that the writ of summons violates Article three of the constitution on separation of powers clause’; Article 42 immunities clause, Article 43 impeachment powers and a long line of cases and precedence in this jurisdiction and its progeny. In view of the letter to the Supreme Court from the House of Representative, the House advised in the interest of the constitutional democracy and consistent with the separation of powers and checks and balances to vacate this writ and avoid embarrassment to the sacred institution of the Supreme Court. In accordance to the Constitution, the Supreme Court invited the Ministry of Justice to seek legal advice. Although, the Supreme Court requested the Ministry of Justice legal expertise in the matter, yet legal minds tells this paper that the Supreme Court request to the Ministry of Justice is on the path of resolving what many calls a constitutional crisis between the both breaches of the Liberian government. At the meeting before the presiding in Chambers,the Ministry of Justice was represented by the Solicitor General Daku Mulbah, who stated that they are asking for time to do more research on what the law says concerning impeachment proceedings on the expressed of the matter. However, the Associate Justice Kabineh Ja’neh who filed before the Honorable Supreme Court a writ of prohibition against the House of Representative have to rescues himself from the meeting with officials of the Justice Ministry of yesterday, August 22, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at the Supreme Court. However, Associate Justice Kabineh Ja’neh was represented by all his lawyers, in persons of Cllr. James Pierre, Cllr. Arthur T. Johnson, Cllr. Koiboi Johnson and Cllr. Amara Sheriff. Even though, all of them were present yet they asked the court for one week to do more research because of the nature of the case. The court granted their request for the two parties to do their researches and appear on next Wednesday.

Kaba, of Montserrado County, on top of the Capital Hill of the Temple of Justice has summoned the X-Ray Newspaper for the action of ‘damages for wrong’, on 17th day of September A.D. 2018 at 10:00 am. The X-Ray Newspaper by and thru its Publisher, Stephen Dioto, Albert T. Willie, Editorial Consultant, Freda Summerville, Business Manager and James Carr, News Editor, all of the City of Monrovia were summoned. The Judge stated that, X-Ray Newspaper was summoned to answer the complaint and to notify the said defendants that upon their failure to so appear, judgment by default will be rendered against them. According to the writ of summon, Judge Kaba further commanded that, to notify the aforesaid defendants to file their Formal appearance and or answer to the complaint in his office on or before the 23rd day of August A.D. 2018. The complaint was made by the Liberia Cement Corporation (CEMENCO) by and thru its Managing Director, William Gaignard of the City of Monrovia.
