Monrovia Remain Virtually Quiet on June 7 Protest Day; Heavy Police Presence, As Protesters Troop Onto Capitol Hill

IPNews-Monrovia: It’s 10:30 in Liberia’s Capital, Monrovia, on June 7, the day scheduled for the much talked about June 7 Protest, under the direction of the Council of Patriots-CoP.

Across the city, there are few stores open with relatively bystanders observing the next occurance.

Our reporter monitoring the situation in central town, explained that normal commercial activities at a standstill.

Along the main business hob in the Liberian capital, of Broad, Randall, Cavrey streets,including the main market area of Waterside and Vai Town where all closed.

Various Breaches of Commercial Banks were also seen closed to the general public, except their head offices, even though the government of Liberia earlier announced that all businesses houses remain open to the public.

Across central town, in the Sinkor suburb of Monrovia, business houses were also seen closed including the fluctuations of internet access causing many commerical banks to remain closed.

Early this morning, one of the Protest lead campaigner and Radio Talkshow host, Henry Costa, in live social media post call on Liberians to turnout for the Protest under the theme: Save The State”.

From the Bushrod Island area, scrolls of Protesters were seen trooping into central town using the Crown Hill, Camp Johnson road area towards the Capitol Hill in preparation for the Protest petition later today.

While in the Sinkor suburb, President George Manneh Weah, in speeding motorcade was seen proceeding at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where the office of the President is currently hosted. Keep logging on as we bring you more on the day from the Liberian Capital,Monrovia. IPNews.
