Police Sets Record Straight; Reacts to Rep. Dennis Claims over Man’s death

IPNews-Monrovia, Liberia-26 June 2018: Police spokesman H. Moses Carter has reacted shapely to recent accusation by Montserrado district N0. 4, Representative Suacoco Dennis linking police to the sudden death of a middle age man only identified as ‘Jolly Jolly’.

It may be recall recently Rep. Dennis call on the House of Representative to institute a full skill investigation into the death of a resident of district N0. 4 identified as ‘daddy boy or commonly known as ‘Jolly Jolly’.

Carter told newsmen during a press briefing held on yesterday that contrary to Rep. Dennis communication to members of the House of Representative claiming the occurrence of suspected murder by police 0fficers is totally incorrect, as the deceased was found dead and taken t the John F. Kennedy Medical Center where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

According to the police spokesman, it was prudent for Rep. Suacoco Dennis to further ascertain the facts with police authorities before communicating with the House of Representative.

“We want to categorically debunk in the strongest term the assertions made by this Honorable Woman against our officers in dispensing and ensuring justice to our people. The Police is a force for good that is respecter for the rule of law and justice for all.”

Carter: “The police will do nothing to undermined the justice system remain very surprised as comments by Rep. Dennis. The Police remain committed to the protection of all its citizens and win t be at any pace t see any the its officer humiliate or harass any peace-loving citizen.”

In a related development, a lady identified Lydia F. Daku , a resident of Barnersville was in the early hours of Sunday, June 24, allegedly murdered in Caldwell.

According to the information, the victim left her resident on Saturday to go to the bank and did not returned.

The police spokesman Moses Carter further said on June 21, a motorcyclist identified as Momo Kromah 28 was stabbed to death in the eye in ‘Day Break Mouth Open Community, Barnersville and motorbike  taken away.

Police have since arrested some suspects in connection with murder, while the motorbike was retrieved during the arrest .

Those arrested are  Momo Karneh and Papay Kennedy all residents of Chicken Soup Factory  community.

Additionally, Commissioner Carter informed newsmen that in a separate incident in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, Police also  arrested and detained lady and her son identified as  Evelyn Diggs  and Robert Nyeswah  for murdering her fiancée in cold blood .

According to Moses Carter the pairs Otis Scott and Eveyn Diggs are engaged in a tussle, when the son identified as Robert Nyeswah stabbed him (Otis Scott) from the back with a knife.

In further update, the police spokesman concluded that Charles Dowin, a former police officer resident of Soul Clinic Community and a notorious armed robber Berry Gontay, alias “Little Man” age 28 resident of Coco cola Factory Community were arrested on June 20, in the Gobachop Community in possession of a single barrel shot gun with three live rounds. The suspects are detained pending further investigation.
