NigComSat will spur Africa to tech. realm – Asst. Minister Kwenme envisioned

IPNews-Monrovia,Liberia-10 May 2018: Assistant Minister of Planning, at the Ministry of Education, Dominic Kwenme says Nigeria is driving Africa into the technological realm with the ownership of Nigerian Communications Satellite, NigComSat.

Speaking when he received a delegation from Nigeria’s  NigComSat, an African indigenous satellite currently investing in Liberia, Kwenme said that Nigeria has set the ball rolling for the rest of Africa to take advantage and make the best use of it.

Assistant Minister Kwenme, made the statement during the formal presentation of NIGCOMSAT products and services to the Ministry of Post & Telecommunication  headquarters in Monrovia recently.

He expressed optimism that Africa would take its rightful place in the emerging technological breakthrough despite the inability to push through its development stride, after many years of independence.

‘‘I am proud to be part of this historic meeting which is meant to drive Africa especially the underserved countries to quickly meet up with the developed world and Nigeria is doing us proud.’’ He said.

Also speaking, was, Education Minister, Prof. Ansu Sonii told the visiting NIGCOMSAT delegation that ‘‘the government of Liberia under the distinguished leadership of President George Mennah Weah, remain concerned for the welfare of its people, especially Liberians working harder to ensure the country gets out of the poverty line and enhance education for its people.

Prof. Ansu: “We need not to look elsewhere to facilitate an enduring reach that will shape our destiny and the destiny of our children.”

Meanwhile, President George Mennah Weah, welcoming the NiGComSat delegation earlier congratulated the group and lauded the initiative which are expected to improve the lives of the ordinary citizen.

President Weah welcome the initiative and said the government of Liberia through  various Ministries will key into the project and ensure a smooth collaboration with NiGComSat.

For his part, the head of delegation and Executive Director Marketing Business Development of NIGCOMSAT Ltd, Barr. Samson Osagie, thanked President Weah for the audience and informed the Liberian President, George Mennah Weah that the company’s mission to Liberia was to leverage on various services of NIGCOMSAT Ltd.

Osagie also said the services include: e-learning, internet service provision, land administration documentation facility and a host of others.

Osegie: “Our mission to Liberia is to target and attract various government ministries and other agencies in the country to our products .
