NPHIL LAUNCHED THE NATIONAL WASH IN HEALTHCARE FACILITIES ROADMAP (2024-2028)

IPNEWS: The Director-General of the National Public Health Institute of Liberia Jane A. Macauley and the Country Director of WaterAid Liberia Chuchu Selma launched the National WASH in Healthcare Facilities Roadmap on Friday, April 11, 2024, at the Corina Hotel in Sinkor.

The NPHIL DG underscored the importance of the Roadmap in Healthcare Facilities. According to her this will contribute greatly to mitigating diseases and save healthcare workers and those who go to the facilities to seek care.

She commended WaterAid Liberia and other partners for their support towards the development of the roadmap.

The WaterAid Country Director Chuchu Selma commended the Technical Team for the time and expertise in the development of the document and called on the Government of Liberia and its partners to ensure that the roadmap is sustainable. He pledged his organization’s continuous collaboration with the National Public Health Institute of Liberia.

The goal of the WASH in HCF Roadmap is to increase universal access to sustainable and adequate WASH services in healthcare facilities and to improve the quality of healthcare delivery, reduce healthcare-associated infection, and safeguard the well-being of patients, healthcare workers, and the community at large.
