Liberia: Over Terroristic Threats, House Investigates Yekeh Kolubah

Cites Continuous Arrogance against President Boakai and First Lady Kartumu Boakai

IPNEWS: Amidst Tuesday’s Street rally and open outburst to give President Joseph Boakai a bitter Liberia, the plenary of the House of Representative has endorsed a decision to investigate Montserrado county Representative Yekeh Kolubah in keeping with its own rules.

Plenary’s decision was triggered by a letter of complaint from Representative Emmanuel Dahn of Montserrado County district #7 and the House’s Chair on Executive.

Representative Dahn in his complaint highlighted concerns over the seriousness of the allegations and the potential impact on the integrity of the House of Representatives.

Representative Kolubah in a press conference earlier on Sunday, April 7, 2024, made robust and unsubstantiated allegations against President Joseph Boakai and First Lady Madam Kartumu Boikai.

The Montserrado County District 7 lawmaker asserted that the attitude normally demonstrated by Representative Yekeh Kolubah does not represent him as an honorable man thus causing uproar and raising doubts about the credibility of the House of Representatives.

Our reporter said following the reading of the letter, Plenary mandated its committees on Rules, Order, and Administration to conduct a thorough investigation into Rep. Kolubah reported rude behavior towards President Boakai and the First Family and reporters in one week.

Repeating his undesirable posture, Representative Kolubah reechoed that threatened the peace of the Country following his latest statement to give President Joseph Nyuma Boakai a Bitter Liberia.

Speaking to reporters during his tour of the main streets of Monrovia, The District Ten Lawmaker warned President Boakai to desist from allegedly witch hunting Liberians who were employed by former President George Weah’s government.

“Govern yourself well, stop the witch hunting or else, we will give you a Bitter Liberia “, he emphasized.

Yekeh who was called for Questioning by the National Security Agency for continuous threatening comments to the State was on Tuesday April 9, 2024 seen marching the main streets challenging the NSA to come and arrest him.

” I am walking with everything so let them come and arrest me “, he added.

According to him , his advocacy is to liberate his people and to ensure that the system works even if it did not work in the past, now is the time to have it corrected.

He told reporters that he is always in the opposition because ruling governments have allegedly failed to live up to their promises made to their people over the period.

Seen with a campus-based group, the Progress Students Alliance (PROSAC), the Controversial lawmaker re-echoed to the current government headed by President Boakai that he has a black bearer group and if President Boakai failed to organize himself well, he will give him a Bitter Liberia.

Mr. Kolubah and his supporters chanted political slogans in a military faction and subsequently March to his Capitol Building office for session .

Meanwhile, his latest statement has been condemned by scores of Liberians who called on the law enforcement agencies to do the needful for the safety of them as his continuous threatening statements have the propensity to undermine the hard-earned peace currently enjoyed by the people.
