Liberia: “Shut-up!” CDC Stalwart Tells Weah, Koijee & Gray

IPNEWS: The disenchantment of Cdcians following the results of the October 2023 elections has gotten to another level with what seems to be a boiling point.

University of Liberia Professor Lester Zomatic Tenny Monday, March 18 called on former President George Weah, including the likes of CDC Secretary General Jefferson Koijee, and former Montserrado District No. 10 Representative Moses Acarus Gray, to do away with making illregular comments against the government of President Joseph Boakai, that threatens the peace of the country.

In his resignation letter dated March 18, 2024, and addressed to Acting CDC National Chairman, Hon. Janga Kowo, Professor Lester Zomatic Tenny, stated that his resignation comes against the background that he finds it completely disingenuous to cohabit and coexist in an organization where thieves, national resources looters and murderers of innocent people exist.

Tenny recounted days of his membership with the CDC since in 2008, for his desire to see a national movement that would incorporate its agendas for the people with a focus to facilitate the national transformation, however, least have he realized that that those objectives of the CDC were only on the manuscript of the party’s platform but never intended to be implemented.

“We all hailed George Weah at the time as being a patriot due to his performance on the field of play in football. None of us thought that the very patriot we once knew on the football pitch would turn out to be a national embarrassment and commodities thief of our people. Many of our people today live in penury and unacceptable way of lives because of the selfish intent of Weah and his cronies to imprison them under the canopy of a popular people’s movement.”

“Weah like his cohorts are fraud and only come to harvest on the blood and sweat of our people. This behavior cannot continue to triumph in this country and therefore to share the same breathing space with such a classic con artist is troubling to my soul.

Therefore, I write to officially leave the party as I embark on another mission to ensure that never again this bigot of a man and his cronies rise to power in this country.” Professor Lester Zomatic Tenny, concludes in his resignation.

More to his resignation letter, Professor Lester Zomatic Tenny, in a five-minute podcast condemned and blasted CDC Secretary General, Jefferson Koijee recent comments against the setting up of the Assets Recovery Taskforce by President Joseph N. Boakai.

former Pres. Weah

Tenny called on Koijee and others, including Former Montserrado District No. 8 Representative Moses Acarus Gray to shut up and give peace chance.

“You come talking about demonstration, who do you really think you people are? Do you think the common people on whose back you came on to amass wealth will listen to you?”

“Let me tell you this Mr. Weah: the Liberian people; Cdicians are not stupid people for you to used. You had the opportunity, and you blow it up. What entitlement do you want? You will get nothing but disrespect for your selfish and greediness for six long years.”

“As for the other one (Koijee), shut up! You had the opportunity to make life better but you choose to kill people all over this place. You guys killed poor Gifty Lama leaving her small children behind. You killed Barteh Nynswah in his house and push his lifeless body down his own house. What protection do you want?”

“Acarus Gray, what protest do you want protest? Hummmm. You had the opportunity to make life better for Liberians but choose to get married in fabulous style in France and now you come to be what here? Go and find place to be!” Professor Lester Zomatic Tenny exclaimed.

It may be recalled, Professor Lester Zomatic Tenny lashed out at former President Goerge Manneh Weah, days after the runoff.

Lester Zomatic Tenny termed President Weah utterances after election results were announced as being ‘ungrateful and a sellout’.

Dr. Lester Z. Tenny, now former member of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC), revealed how nasty things were going on within the CDC following the defeat of the party.

Speaking on the night-time radio program on Spoon FM, Dr. Tenny vowed that never again will President Weah be allowed to run or contest on the CDC ticket as its standard bearer.

Tenny contended that Weah’s tenure as the leader of the CDC was marked by “error” and an “ingrate.”

Dr. Lester Z. Tenny stated that President Weah’s role within the CDC, was an “error” that has deviated from the party’s intended path or vision. As an “ingrate”, Tenny insisted that former president George Weah did not show the Party and its partisans gratitude or acknowledged the critical and crucial roles played by the rise of the CDC and his presidency.

Tenny’s bold claim that George Weah represents the “worst leadership” Liberia has ever experienced.

“I have read in several newspapers and even listened to radios where I heard President Weah blaming the Executive Committee of the Party for the defeat and describing the Executive Committee as insincere,” said Dr. Tenny.

“Quote me, President Weah will never be the standard bearer of the CDC again,” Dr. Tenny claimed. It remains to be seen how Dr. Tenny will achieve this plan.

CDC SG Jefferson Koijee

Tenny disclosed that they would remove former President Weah’s name from every document of the CDC.

He accused Weah of being allegedly sold out, alleging further that the incumbent had sold the CDC because he can’t run for the next six years.

Dr. Tenny said the CDC has accepted the presidential defeat and it will consolidate, look at the errors, and rebrand the party for the 2029 elections.

He claimed that Weah was one of the errors in the party and so they would not allow him to run on the party’s ticket again.

Dr. Tenny accused Mr. Weah of allegedly disrespecting the people of the party and presenting the Executive Committee as if it wanted war and conflict in the country. On the other hand, Tenny said Weah presented himself as a peacemaker.

“We will have a smooth six years and we will rebrand the party. But I can assure you, President Weah, you will never run again on this party ticket. It will not happen,” said Tenny.

“You are a wicked man. We will remove your name from any documents that have to do with the party,” he stated.
