“Cllr. Cooper Kruah Nomination As Minister of Justice, Is A Nat’l Risk”, CESS Alarms

PNEWS: The Center For Economic Crimes & Security Studies (CESS) says as Liberia transitioned into another democratic corridor with the peaceful transferred of power by the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) government to the Unity Party, it’s gravely concerned about the security of the of Liberia by the government of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai – and  believes that the recent nomination of Cllr. Cooper Kruah as Minister of Justice, Attorney General and Chairman of the Joint Security is a high risk to the country peace, security and stability.

In a press statement issued today through the its Acting National Director Isaac Weah Saywon notes that President Boakai’s action can be seen as outsourcing the security of the state to the defunct Violent Independent National Patriotic Front of Liberia (INPFL) under the supervision of the blood thirst murder Prince Y. Johnson.

CESS’ statement further notes that it is more troubling because Rebel Leader Prince Y. Johnson has promised/ revealed during one of his services in 2023, that he has more than 1000 men to mobilized in a twinkle of an eyes to protect the INPFL at any and all cost, even though, the 2003 Accra Peace Agreement dismantled all armed factions in Liberia.

“We are linking Cllr Kruah to the INPFL, because the party which he represents. It’s an open secret that the INPFL is MDR. Hence, the MDR, which is an offspring of the INPFL demands for key security positions Is security risk and threaten our peace and stability.”

“Similarly, on January 28, 2024, the Rebel Leader also repeated his statement but escalated it that there will be chaos and abnormality should in case the war and economic crime court were established,” the statement states.

According to CESS, it is troubled based on the following reasons:

1.The Ministry of Justice and the joint security will be run by the brutal Rebel Leader Prince Y. Johnson.

2. There exists a potential of the rearming of the INPFL using state security apparatus under the MOJ to achieve the end objectives of the notorious Rebel movement.

3.The Four American CATHOLIC NUNs who were on religious and humanitarian assignment in Liberia that were raped and gruesomely murder and the over 250, 000 Liberians killed, may not have justice anytime soon or never seen daylight with the Notorious Rebel Leader Prince Y. Johnson having oversight of the MOJ and the Joint security.

4.Critical voices and the free press will be muzzled as promised by the notorious Rebel Leader Prince Y. Johnson when threatening Voice of Liberia CEO Sekou Sheriff of closing his radio station after he takes over the ministry of justice.

CESS finds it difficult to comprehend why President Baokai with his experience will conspired to undermine the peace, security and safety of the Liberian people by outsourcing the security of the state to the INPFL masquerading as a political party

Besides, the sitting as a Justice Minister of the defunct INPFL will not hold those affiliating with the INPFL accountable for unexplained wealth.

CESS strongly maintains that it is troubling, sad and one of the darkest movements   for our emerging democracy for the entire security of the state to be outsourced by the Boakai led government in the hands of MDR, a political party which is an offspring and founded on the mantra of the INPFL, a notorious former rebel group led by the infamous war lord, Prince Y. Johnson that slaughtered countless of peaceful citizens in a broad day light.

CESS noted that the demand from Warlord Prince Johnson for the Justice ministry, EPS director and Director of the National Security Agency (NSA) are not favorable signs for our emerging democracy, and call on president Joseph Nyumah Boakai to keenly observe and revert this horrible nightmare that is about to befall the nation with the entire security in the hands of the MDR, an offspring of the former INPFL which has a sinister motive that need to be averted.

CESS is of the conviction that genuine democracy and justice will prevail only if those who have perpetrated heinous crime against the nation and its people are made to account for their actions then window dressing them for political gains at the detriment of the nation.

In view of the forgoing, CESS calls on President Boakai to without delay withdraw the nomination of Cllr. Cooper Kruah  or be seen as an enabler  on  the potential rearming of the INPFL and the havoc  they may potentially cause the Liberian people.

In conclusion, the CESS will elevate this matter to all of its partners globally, particularly the US Congress on a calculated scheme to delay justice on the raped and gruesome murder of the four catholic nuns.

Note: The Center for Economic crimes and security studies (CESS) was founded 2021, with sole objectives to fight crimes in public interest and also carry indepth security studies in the Mano River Union basins.
