Liberia: Jeety Overwhelmed with Love from Weala Residents

-As They Gown Him for His Humanitarian Gestures to Community; Feeds Prisoners, Children on Christmas Day

 

Residents of Weala and Cinta Townships in Margibi County have honored Indian businessman and philanthropist, Mr. Upjit Singh Sachdeva for his outstanding humanitarian gestures to their communities over the years.

Despite being successful in his business ventures, those Margibians said Mr. Sachdeva, who is more famously known in “Jeety”, has never forgotten to always give back to their community and as such, the need to appreciate his philanthropic efforts can’t be overemphasized.

Jeety received the honor on Christmas Day, when he and his team feed over 3,000 children in commemoration of Christ’s birthday, demonstrating his commitment to creating a positive impact on the Liberian society.

Jeety, who also provides hot, cooked meals for less-fortunate Liberians as part of his usual activities, also fed over 1,381 inmates with hot meal, sacs of water and over 100 cases of soda and cake. He also provided brand new plates and spoons for use by the inmates and others at the Monrovia Central Prison.

Remarking, during the gowning of Mr. Sachdeva, Cinta Township Commissioner, Mr. Roland Johnson said their decision to gown the Indian businessman, is demonstration of the good that they continue to receive from the Indian business tycoon in their communities.

Commissioner Johnson, speaking on behalf of the residents of both townships, furthered that their decision is in recognition of the fact that Jeety’s philanthropic efforts have not gone unnoticed by them as they are direct beneficiaries of his kindness.

Johnson noted that Jeety’s contributions to the welfare of the less fortunate and prisoners in Monrovia as well as the people of Weala and the country-at-large have already earned him respect and admiration from both locals and authorities across Margibi County.

The Commissioner, whose face was elated with joy, thanked Jeety for the construction of his Jeety Rubber LLC factory in Weala and the installation of running water, noting that the facility has already begun boosting the local economy as well as providing thousands of jobs for the citizens of Weala and surrounding towns and villages.

He then extolled the government for creating an environment that allows investments to flourish, adding: “Jeety Rubber LLC facility is a testament of his love and concern he has for this country and people of Weala.”

“Hence, we from this community want to thank you Jeety; we love and appreciate all that you are doing for our country and its citizenry,” he said.

In respond, Jeety, who was amazed and short of words, was overwhelmed with the outpouring of affections shown by the residents of Weala and Cinta Townships. He thanked those Margibians for the gift and honor bestowed upon him, and emphasized the need for those he described as the country’s future leader to be celebrated and catered to.

Recognizing that Christmas can be a difficult time for those who lack parental care or live in challenging circumstances, he also disclosed that he and team are committed to ensuring that smiles are put on the faces of the children every major holiday. Not only that, he provides daily feeding for the kids of Weala.

Meanwhile, to ensure that the children experienced a glimmer of hope and happiness during the festive season, Jeety and team further organized a heartwarming children party, ensuring that all of the kids in attendance fed the love and joy of Christmas.

Jeety, collaborating with the local townships’ authority and volunteers, arranged the party complete with decorations, gifts, and entertainment, as the joy and smiles on the children’s faces were a testament to the impact Jeety’s gestures had on their lives.

“It gives me immense pleasure to feed children,” he said.

Jeety also stopped by at the Monrovia Central Prison to share the Christmas with the over 1381 inmates; he provided food, soda and water for the them; he’s in handshake with the Deputy Prison Supt for Operations, Madam 

The honor bestowed upon Jeety is a testament to his selflessness and dedication to the welfare of others and with his unwavering support for prisoners and children during holidays, has throughout the year showcased his deep understanding of the challenges faced by some Liberians.

Furthermore, his contributions have undoubtedly left an indelible mark on the lives of those he has reached out to, serving as an inspiration for others to follow in his footsteps.

Jeety’s rubber factory in Weala is in the tune of nearly US$40 million and he intends to produce rubber products, including rubber bands, hand gloves and tires.
