Liberia – States Lawyers Claim Former C/J’s Brother Is Secretly Entering Crime Scene

IPNEWS – Lawyers representing the Government of Liberia, in the trial involving former Chief Justice Gloria Musu Scott along with three of her relatives, have informed the Court that the brother of Defendant Scott, Mr. Anthony Musu, has been secretly entering the crime scene, which is the home of the former Chief Justice.

On Monday, November 27, the prosecution informed the court that the brother of Defendant Scott, Musu had been accessing the quarantined home of his sister. The state lawyers said he does this under the pretense of feeding dogs.

The lawyers said the office of the County Attorney was informed by the police detachment and the CSD on the frequent appearance of Mr. Musu at the home of Cllr. Scott.

According to the prosecution, Anthony Musu intentionally broke one of the keys into the doors of former Chief Justice, Scott and accessed other parts of the building.

In their application, state lawyers requested Judge Roosevelt Z. Willie to have Mr. Musu appear before the court to explain why he has been accessing the building without the authorization of the court.

The prosecution further informed the court to have “the intruder” (Mr. Musu) turned over the keys of the said premises to the Sheriff of the court, adding that after an assessment and investigation of the manner and form, the said premises are already being quarantined.

According to them, their information comes after the Defendant Scott had testified in open court that before the death of Charloe Musu, her premises were vandalized on two occasions.

Resisting the state lawyers, Cllr. Scott’s lawyers described the statement as misleading and requested the court to verify some of the things uttered by the government’s lawyers.

The defense team said it is the police who have been on duty and any vandalism on that residence would be attributed to the police.

The defense stated that in fact, it is because Mr. Musu does not have access to the residence which is why the dogs that are in the fence of former Chief Justice, Scott have not been fed and may probably die.

After listening to the application of the state and the resistance of the defense, Judge Willie ordered the Clerk of Court to invite the commander of Zone 6 and his men, who are assigned at the residence of the former Chief Justice to report for investigation.
