IPNEWS: The lifeless body of Liberian student studying in the East African nation of Rwanda was on Wednesday, November 23,2023, found dead in his apartment after reportedly hanging himself.
According to reports, Liberian students in Rwanda were on Wednesday morning greeted to the sad news of the passing of their colleague.
According to a student who preferred not to be named, the lifeless body of their colleague identified as Mo Sheriff was found hung with a rope around his neck in an apartment in the Rwandan Capital, Kigali.
” This sent chills down our spines, “one of the Liberian students in Rwanda is quoted as saying.
” This comes as a big shock to all of us because Mo had always been a quiet fellow” another Liberian in Rwanda narrated.
The deceased was said to be a second-year student at one of the prestigious Universities in Kigali.
Some Liberians in the East African nation described the deceased as a popular member of the Liberian Students Association in Rwanda, the umbrella organization of Liberians pursuing studies in Rwanda.
“He was well known in our organization, ” a female Liberian student explained.
Police in Rwanda are said to have launched an investigation over the death of Mo Sheriff.
The death of student Sheriff brings to two the number of Liberian students who have died in Rwanda in less than two months.
Last month another Liberian student was laid to rest in Kigali, Rwanda following what his friends described as a long struggle with an ” unknown illness” .
