Liberia Rector John Harmon Becomes 1st Black Bishop of Episcopal Diocese of Arkansas

IPNEWS: A native of Garry Street, Harper, Mayland County in Liberia, Rev. Fr.  John T. N. Harmon has become the first black Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of the State of Arkansas, United States of America.

The Liberian born is the first black Bishop of the 14th Episcopal Dioceses of Arkansas.

Serving as Rector of the Trinity Episcopal Church, North-west D.C., for twenty-three years, the Liberian born Father Harmon, created a school for training in arts and music which has immensely developed the Episcopal music ministry where young Christians between the ages of 18-21, learn new skills in music.

Students at the center are awarded a place and stipend in exchange for taking up the great commission of going into all the world to preach and teach the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The center caters to the oppressed, marginalized, and poor, spending time with each other in community works and teaching others how to go out together in bringing others to the saving knowledge of Jusus Christ.

The Trinity Episcopal school of ministry will remember as the Lagacy of its own father John T.N. Harmon as he takes up his new role as Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of the states of Arkansas.

Father Harmon lauded the Trinity Episcopal Church for the time in nurturing him into greatness for the work of Jusus Christ.

He praised to continue the development of the youth ministry started in Arkansas.

In bis final statement to the Trinity Episcopal Church, Father Harmon recounted the years of his priesthood when his mother took him by the hand to a Episcopal church at an age of 11 on a Saturday in February at a time you had to be 12 yrs before joining the areolate, and told then priest Father Reeves as RECTOR, my son wants to be a Priest.

He stated since then his thoughts for ministry have always been fire buried.

Even before he’s ordained next year January, Father John T.N. Harmon has called for peace in the middle-east-stressing that all human lives are important to God.
