Liberia:  Clar Weah Rallies Muslim Women’s Support for Weah Reelection 

IPNEWS:  Ahead of the November 14, 2023 run-off, First Lady Clar Marie Weah is rallying the support of women and girls across the country through community-based engagements for the second term bid of President George Manneh Weah.

The latest of such engagements was on Monday, October 30, in Jacob Town, Montserrado County, where hundreds of women and girls under the banner Muslim Women Alliance for Peace and Development, embraced the First Lady and committed themselves to ensure the reelection of President Weah.

Accompanied by Internal Affairs Minister Varney Sirleaf, Mrs. Weah expressed profound gratitude to the women and citizens across Liberia for the peaceful conduct of the October 10 polls and ting President Weah, enabling him to win the first round of the elections.

“Thank you for choosing him (President Weah) in the first round. Please go out on November 14 to vote for him again to allow him to complete the great work that he has started and more,” Mrs. Weah asserted, stressing that the Liberian leader was determined to make the country much better.

“President Weah has done a tremendous amount of work in the interest of all Liberians. He continues to develop our country and cares so much for all of you, especially your children, so he made it his priority to ensure their WASSCE fees are paid. He continues to improve our health care system so that all of us can be healthy,” the First Lady noted.

Since taking on the role of the first lady, Mrs. Weah has been undertaking various programs including the construction of the Dehcontee Home of the Elderly in Grand Bassa County, the construction of a vocational training center, er and the City of Hope in Margibi County, aimed at complementing government’s efforts to empower and improve the lives of women and girls.

Mrs. Weah told the woman that her husband remains the best choice in the pending elections, noting that choosing him would mean ensuring that Liberia stays on the path of peace, development, and prosperity.
