BOAKAI RETURNS TO MONROVIA FOLLOWING “DIPLOMATIC MOVES” IN THE SUBREGION

The Unity Party Standard Bearer Ambassador Joseph Nyuma Boakai returned to Monrovia a few days ago from Western Liberia where he was leading political rallies in Bomi to fly out of the Country for crucial consultations with friends and partners.

He and delegation have returned home.

Over the years as Vice President,he made tremendous strides to engage regional and world leaders on issues of interest and concern to Liberia.

JNB as he is affectionately referred to is a well revered personality in the ECOWAS Region.

Outside of ECOWAS he has traveled to many nations in Asia, Europe, the Americas the Caribbean and Pacific regions and the rest of Africa.

He represented the President and Government of Liberia at the United Nations General Assembly on two occasions where he made cases for Liberia and in one of those interventions advocated for the waiver or forgiveness of Liberia’s debts.

During his Vice presidency he traveled to Indonesia and Malaysia to engage oil palm companies that resulted in major investments in Liberia.

In the United States, he engaged a number of State Universities for the improvement of education in Liberia and solicited scholarships which he passed on to relevant CDC Government authorities but they failed to take advantage of.
The scholarships were intended for professors and students.

JNB visited China and met with the Head of that country at which time key issues were discussed when he served as Vice President.

On other occasions, he visited companies in China to seek investment in food processing for Liberia as well as furniture production given Liberia’s vast timber reserves.

In 2015, he represented the Government and President of Liberia at the COP15 in Copenhagen, Denmark,a summit of Nations on Climate Change where he made a case for Liberia given the nation’s vast forest reserves.

JNB is an international icon, in Abia State, Nigeria, the Authorities at the Gregory University honoured him by naming a department in his honour in the Social Sciences College and crowned him Igwe of that State with all the previliges.

He actively participated in a conference in Freetown,Sierra Leone to address the issues of breast cancer something that is affecting women around the world.

As a philanthropist, he still partners with a UK Church man and philanthropist to distribute medical,sports,food, clothing and other materials to the needy in Liberia. He travels to London quite often to follow up on these supplies and this program through his Foundation has been going on since 2006.
It is based on his integrity and accountability that these supplies have been made available to Liberia.

With these contacts around the world in the areas of agriculture, education,medicine etc.Liberia stands to benefit immensely when he becomes president.

JNB traveled to over 35 nations with immense benefits coming back to the country.
