IPNEWS-Monrovia: The Voice of Sinoe Community Radio located in Greenville City, Sinoe County will now celebrate an appreciable reduction in the daily running cost of the station with the installation of 5 kilowatts of solar energy power.

The Solar energy installation as part of USAID/Liberia Media Activityโ€™s technical capacity-building support to the community radio sector of Liberia

Situated in a region heavily inaccessible, particularly during the wet season, the alternative solar power supply will be a major relief for this resource-challenged community radio station.

The current high cost of fuel coupled with expenses associated with regular maintenance of power generators prevent a large number of community radio stations from maintaining their normal broadcast.
