IPNEWS-Bassa: A prominent son of Grand Bassa County has sent a strong warning to former Vice President. Joseph Boakai on his pending decision to pick his running mate for the 2023 Presidential and Legislative elections slated for October.
Speaking at a news conference in Monrovia Togar Alexander Bealded disclosed the people of Grand Bassa County deserve better when it comes to who should be the running mate to former Vice President Boakai.
According to him, if former VP Boakai refuses to pick Grand Bassa County Senator Nyonblee Kanga-Lawrence the people of Bassa will stand up against him and they will lead a strong campaign against his presidential bid to seek the Liberian presidency.
Grand Bassa County District #3 Representative Aspirant Togar Alexander Bealded
Bealded recalled that former Vice President Boakai made the same mistake during the 2017 Presidential and Legislative Elections that led to his massive defeat by President George Weah because left three Grand Bassa County sons and chose for House Speaker Emmanuel Nuquay as running mate.
He said Senator Karnga-Lawrence is the best person to go as running mate to Boakai if he refuses to do so it will be the end this political career, adding, “the people of Grand Bassa County need to be represented at the highest level politically and she is the best person to be vice of this country.”
“Grand Bassa County have over half a million population and it’s important that they have a voice in the presidency of the Country if this is not done we will stand up against him”.
Bealded who’s is contesting in the Grand Bassa County District #3 as a Representative aspirant added that the other two names that have been ringing in the Country of being possible running mate to Joe Boakai, including the likes of talk show host Henry Costa and Nimba County Senator, Jeremiah Koung, he alleged they are all associates of the current government.
“We are getting credible report that former Vice President Joe Boakai will be naming his possible running mate and we are sitting on the face watching to see if he doesn’t take Senator Karnga-Lawrence we will lead a strong campaign against him.”
He said if Boakai cannot be man enough to choose between three persons, “we doubt his leadership ability to govern over 5 million Liberians.”
Concluding the Grand Bassa District #3 Representative Aspirant, Togar Alexander Bealded stated they are getting credible information that there are people using huge amounts of moneys to influence the mind of former Vice President Boakai in selecting his running mate, noting “this is where his leadership ability will come into play to know whether he is a leader or not.”
