HOOLIGANISM & THUGGERY ON DISPLAY- ACAROUS GRAY, SUP, & KOLUBAH SHOWDOWN CREATE PANIC IN MONROVIA

IPNEWS: With arms folded, the Liberia National Police watched rival stone-throwing militias rain stones on the main campus of the University of Liberia.

Flashback: Rep. Acarous Gray prior to becoming a Lawmaker said he was a grassroots campaigner, but yesterday on UL campus he led a group of thugs and gangsters in defiance from his own CDC officials and partisans to stay clear of the UL campus to avoid disturbances, but he ignored their calls and led a violent action something that is unthinkable of lawmaker. Today, power has gotten into his head as he disregard the very people who elected him.

In the early hours of Monday morning, members of the Student Unification Party (SUP), began jubilation and crisscrossing the campus of the University of Liberia, chanting antigovernmental and Gray songs.

As all this was ongoing, Montserrado County District #8 Representative Acarous Gray was heard on OK FM 99.5, vowing to enter the UL by mid-day.
Certainly at 12:00noon, Representatives Acarous Gray entered the University of Liberia surrounded by tons of crowd, including hired thugs and gangsters many of whom were drug-corded youths (Zogos).
The fight ensued with stone-throwing from rival groups lasting for nearly two hours.

As the commotion continued, members of SUP, disappeared, while UL security took up cover at various classes leaving unarmed students who had gone for genuine classes exposed to undue uncertainties.
Minutes into all this uncontrollable confusion, another student group loyal to Representative Acarous Gray, Progressive Students Alliance  (PROSA), took on to the Sinkor suburb towards the headquarters of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC).

Amidst the withdrawal of troops loyal to Representative Gray, SUP, and PROSA, forces of Montserrado County District 10, Yekeh Kolubah, besieged the main campus of the University of Liberia, rounding loyalists and perceived supporters of Representative Gray, leaving to the man-handing and undressing of a young man perceived to be a member of Gray’s support group PROSA.

In warlike style, Representative Kolubah, encamped by members of SUP, marched on to central town challenging  rival support groups of Representative Acarous Gray and PROSA, to come out.
Today’s crisis at the UL comes in the aftermath of the throw-out of Aloysius Howe the administrative Aid to Finance Minister Samuel Tweah, U.S. indicted Sayma Syrennius Cyrus, Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor, Finance Minister Samuel Tweah, and former Minister of State Nathaniel McGill.
Rep. Grays addresses his supporters, followers as well as the thugs and gangsters he took on the main campus of UL to disrupt classes and instigate chaos as well as carried out destruction of properties and wounding of students.
Before Monday’s commotion, Representative Acarous Gray had vowed to have lunch at the main campus of the University of Liberia, in the aftermath of a situation that almost result to the beating of Aloysius Howe, a member of the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change who was said to have received USD200,000.00 for promoting the just-ended LISGIS National Housing and Demographic Census.
SUP had earlier warned that Rep. Gray would not be received on the UL campus because in their words, “No corrupt officials of the ruling CDC government will be allowed on the campus of the UL until they can realize and allot the needed budgetary allotment to the UL to make academic conducive for students.”
Flashback: Three composite culled from the video of UL students hackling former Solicitor General Sayma Syrennius Cephas and calling him a ‘rouge’
Weeks ago, former and sanctioned Solicitor General of Liberia, Cllr. Sayma Syrenius Cephus was driven out of the UL by students on grounds that he has been sanctioned by the United States government for corruption and the Liberian government has refused to prosecute he and other sanctioned former and current government officials.
Days after, Vice President Jewel Howard Taylor was jeered by students of the UL during the introduction of the Fishery Course at the UL. The students jeered VP Taylor and called her all sorts of name due to the CDC government’s failure to fully support the UL but its officials are basking in wealth and opulence.
Meanwhile, political pundits have condemned Rep. Gray for ignoring all calls from even his ruling CDC party to stay clear of the UL main campus to avoid chaos, but instead chose to lead a group of violent thugs and gangsters on the main campus to satisfy his selfish desire, and a member of the ruling CDC.
Liberians are therefore calling on the Speaker of the House of Representative, the Ministry of Justice and President George Weah to bring Rep. Cray to book for leading a group that caused chaos, mayhem and trouble for students of the UL.
