Underprivileged Children Benefit from Women Organized Resources Liberia Raffle Draw

IPNEWS-Monrovia: As part of efforts to support less fortunate children, the Women Organized Resources for Liberia Development Inc. (Worldwide), an International non-for-profit organization, held a grand raffle draw at the Corina hotel in Monrovia recently, at which time scores of pupils won cash prizes and assorted items.

The scene of the occasion was filled with intense exhilaration as the organization puts smiles on the faces of at least ten pupils in Montserrado County.

With its motto: “Sharing and Caring,” the humanitarian organization through its President Roseda Marshall said the raffle is part of activities to reach out to the underprivileged children, She said the outreach will help put smiles on the faces of the kids and aid their parents, to finance their schooling as they continue their education sojourn.

Madam Marshall said the organization will continue to be supportive of less fortunate children, as well as building the capacity of women across Liberia, through empowerment, education, and other essential initiatives.

At least ten kids won cash prizes of USD$375 each. Other winners who also won cash prizes or assorted items were, Davis Banahene, with ticket No. 267, won himself a cash of USD$200, while little Felicia Mark took home cash prize of $100USD, winning from ticket No. 400. Also, Martin Coleman pocketed USD$75 from Ticket No.405.

Others Winners include Hannah Capehart, who won a pure of Ticket No. Little Jerry Brown winning a set of slippers, Esther Moore, also one pair of slipper, Pauline Davis, Banahene, and Joanna Emerson, a pack of pencil and soap respectively.

The Women Organized Resources for Liberia Development Inc. (Worldwide), was founded in 1991, in the United States of America with so purpose of helping the less fortunate children and empowering women, through programme. The organization was established in Liberia early 2000’s.

Meanwhile, few of beneficiaries of the cash and kinds, expressed thanks to the organization for organizing the raffle draws, saying it will enable them to help their parents pay their school fees.
