IPNEWS – Opposition Vision for Liberia Transformation Party (VOLT) political leader, Dr. Jeremiah Z. Whapoe, has foretold and termed President George M. Weah’s last State of the Nation Address (SONA) as another continuation of copy and paste deception and lies to the Liberian people.
According to Dr. Whapoe, President Weah’s last SONA will be no different from the previous addresses he has delivered to the nation.
Addressing score of supporters over the weekend at VOLT headquarters on the Old Road, he noted that since President Weah’s ascendency to the Presidency, he has done nothing to address the prevailing challenges of Liberians.
“I don’t expect anything different from President Weah than what he has been saying previously. His speech on Monday will be characterized with deception, lies and politic. President Weah has one speech that he gives the nation every year therefore, they are just going to change date and time on the past speech,” Dr. Whapoe noted.
He termed the President’s speech as a copy and paste, adding that there is nothing new in the President’s address contrary to what he has been saying over the past time.
Dr. Whapoe narrated that since President Weah took office, his administration has done nothing to address the economic hardship of the people, something he said is evidence of what is happening in the street.
“Let’s talk about the economy: President Weah will tell us on Monday again that there is economic growth. However, it’s a big lie because our people don’t have job. Their businesses are not growing because no money for people to buy. If you think that is lie, look in the street today and see how many people this government has turned into bagger;” he opined.
The opposition politician also stated that the Coalition for Democratic Change-led Administration has done nothing to address the Agriculture Sector of Liberia because Liberia import has increased extremely under President Weah.
Dr. Whapoe accused the Liberian leader of rampant corruption, constitution breaches and human rights and economy rights violations, alleging that poverty has greatly increased since the inception of this government.
He described the Weah Administration as the grandfather of corruption, and deception on grounds that since the government took over they have never been truth to themselves and the Liberian people.
“I have many to name that indicates that President Weah will say the same lies Monday. You follow NAYMOTE who tracks the President’s promises and discovers that all the promises made to Liberians nothing good have been implemented. The President has not made any good effort to address roads connectivity that he claimed to be medicine for. Therefore, I have expected nothing different and new but copy and paste of his past lies” Dr. Whapoe noted.
He explained that Liberian are importing nearly everything we eat including peanuts, paper, and other agriculture produce because government has refused to empower local farmers and provide the marker for them.
“You will also listen to President Weah telling you that they have empowered our women but yet they will not mention the location of those people and who they are because it’s all lies. They have not provided any support to farmers, and they have initiated no strategies to solve our economy problem but yet he will lie again with number but the reality will prove it all wrong,” he concluded.
