Over 3,000 Children Benefit LRA Foundation, LBS Christmas Party

IPNEWS: At least 3,000 children from across Monrovia Monday (Dec 25) benefitted from a Christmas party hosted in their honor in Paynesville.

The Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) Foundation and the Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS) jointly hosted the party to put smiles on the faces of the kids as a way of identifying with them during the festive season.

The children received packages of gift items including toys, clothes, and copybooks, and also got hot meals, among others.

LRA Commissioner General Thomas Doe Nah described the event as “a rewarding moment of sharing the joy of Christmas” with the kids he described as “precious to the future of the nation”.

CG Nah thanked the LBS Management for the collaboration, adding that such a partnership will go a long way in initiating impactful projects including tax awareness and education.

LBS Director General, Estelle Liberty Kemoh, added that the children’s Christmas Party was a great way of identifying with the thousands of Liberian children.

Christmas, she said, is the time of sharing love with humanity, which also includes bringing children together in a festive nature.

The children and some accompanying parents were seen in a joyous mood as they received gifts and joined friends to celebrate the day.

The LRA on December 7 officially launched its foundation as a charitable arm to serve humanity through giving back to the communities and assisting the needy in the country.
