Impressive Turnout! Thousands Greet CPP “We Taya Suffering” Rally Peacefully

…..As CPP Alexander Cummings Pledges to Uphold Rule of Law When Elected President

IPNEWS: Even though it all started on a slow pace in the early hours of Saturday morning, December 17, for the “We Taya Suffering” rally called by the opposition Collaborating Political Party (CPP), certainly trooping protesters began emerging from various directions of the city onto the Samuel K. Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville City, outside Monrovia.

By Saturday afternoon a huge crowd of had gathered from various sections of the Liberian society. The filled storming the outside facility of the Samuel Kayon Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville and even spilled over on to the main road. They chanted slogans calling on the George Weah-led Administration to put an end to the poor economic condition and high costs of living for Liberians.

Most of the chanting protesters called for the speedy return of President George Manneh Weah, to the country amidst growing inflation and high cost of living.

With large sounds of drumbeats and revolutionary songs interspersing the all-day “We Taya Suffering”, the protesters turned out from various groupings, political parties and Faith Base organizations including the former CDC Royal Guard, Disenchanted Cdccian, Grassroot Churches of Liberia, Cross Border Women Association, Liberia First Movement, People living with Disability, Muslim Community, People Liberation Party, United people party among others were part of the Rally.

In his introductory speech, the chief organizer, former Liberian Ambassador to the United Nations, Lewis Brown, now the senior member of Team Cummings, stated that the “ We Taya Suffering” rally has now sent a message to the world that Liberia is ‘no longer safe and the President do not care about the living conduction of the very suffering Liberian’.

“Why are we here today? Is to speak to our Government, that we are here to break the threat and violence that our government, especially breaking the caused placed upon all Liberians unknowingly by standing up to tell the world that We Taya Suffering”.

The former Information Minister in a deeming manner questions: where is President Weah promise to the Liberian people that he will end the suffering and the hardship? Do you know why we choose SKD? This is the same place President Weah promised Liberians he would end their sufferings and certainly, the people are tired of the suffering.

Amb. Lewis Brown: “We see over the last few weeks some people who called themselves opposition feared to come and join us in this national and sincere call. This is a platform that needs a collective approach yet some refuse to join us. But look around you, the turnout today tells a lot.”

Brown added that the CPP ‘We Taya Suffering’ rally has now provided the platform for those who are afraid to say or speak about the unfortunate situation of the country, and the CPP under the distinguished leadership of Alexander B. Cummings is committed to improving the wellbeing of the Liberian people and will do all it takes to ensure series of such kind of rally is held in all the fifteen political subdivisions of Liberia.

For his part, the Chairman of the Liberty Party, Musa Hassan Bility, in a special remark in support of the ‘we Taya Suffering’ peaceful rally, stated that Liberians came to the SKD to send a clear message to President George Manneh Weah of Liberia, that the trust that the Liberian people put in him had been mismanaged and they need their power back.

Chairman Musa Hassan Bility said Liberians that gathered Saturday or at home, are convinced that it is time for another alternative for the country that will change the course of bad governance, corruption, and insecurity.

“Liberians far and near, are facing and encountering one of the worst periods of the nation’s existence. Today we are here today to tell you that all of the opposition had failed the Liberian people and even the president has failed the entire country.”

“You have 10 months to take your country to another level, and the CPP is here to take the country to a higher high”. Liberty Party’s embattled Chairman Musa Hassan Bility stated.

United People Party (UPP), in their petition statement, said they were pleased to announce its support to the ‘We Taya Suffering’ rally through their physical presence and pledged to always support such efforts in the interest of the Liberian people.

The UPP further encouraged the CPP to remain peaceful and conduct themselves in a good manner in pushing the agenda of the Liberian people for a better representation of the Presidency.

Bishop Obadiah Alison of the Grassroot Churches of Liberia, speaking on behalf of charismatic churches said the charismatic churches of Liberia are prepared to rally the larger grassroots voices to rescue Liberia from its present state of affairs.

“Parents can no longer go to bed in peace due to the unprecedented hardship, But we are here to lift up our voices to carry this rally to the length and birth of the Country.”

“The only way God can hear us is to say that we are suffering and God will be able to help us and take us to a new Liberia.” Bishop Obadiah Alison of the Grassroot Churches of Liberia said.

He added that it’s time for the Church to stand up for the interest of the people of Liberia rise up and enough is enough.

Also attending the ‘We Taya Suffering’ rally was the Tailor Union of Liberia. Making their presentation of dozens of T-shirts to CPP political leader Alexander B. Cummings, the Union stated the presentation was a way of exemplifying their support for the CPP and the ‘We Taya Suffering’ rally.

The head of the Taylor Union said all of the Clothes that Liberian wearing come from other Countries but they believe that under Alexander Cummings leadership it is confident that will regain years when it made its own right in Liberia.

“This is not a fight for Alexander Cummings but for the young people of Liberia and the Country at large.” The Tailor Union of Liberia stated.

In a separate remake former Senator of Bomi County, Former Member of the National Patriotic Party, and now a member of the All Liberian Party, Sando Diazo Johnson stated that for him, it was a full gone conclusion that President Weah could not do better.

Johnson stated he wonders why Liberians were surprised at the attitude of President Weah when he told Liberians should not judge him by the eloquence of his speech but unfortunately his work has proven that he is not a leader and has led the country into a big mess.

“We have to stand up for the Liberian people! We worked with him at the Liberian Senate and we knew that he was not going to do anything better.” Former Bomi Senator Sando Johnson said.

The tough-talking Bomi former Senator, recounted memories of Senator Weah, now President of Liberia at the Senate, saying “Why other senators were putting ideas on the table for a resolution of a serious national issue, then-Senator Weah was there drawing cars, cartoons and playing games on his telephone.

Sando Johnson: “ Look, President Weah has failed us as a leader and in the coming days we will be making a political decision in the interest of the people and the Country that will benefit the Liberian people.”

For his part, controversial Montserrado County District #10  Representative Yakeh Kolubah revealed that the government of Liberia has paid the management of spoon group of companies, to launch a series of negative propaganda against the CPP and the holding of the ‘We Taya Suffering’ rally.

Rep. Kolubah then calls on the opposition to unite in the interest of the Liberian people as the only alternative to keeping a focus on making President Weah a one-term president.

“We have to be strong. The government wants to make us afraid to cheat in the upcoming Election. The CPP rally was undermined by Stanton Waterspoon and some opposition members and it is time for the opposition to come together and put aside their personal difference and work in the interest of the Liberian people.

Speaking to supporters and a cross-section of Liberians the Political leader of the Collaborating Political parties stated that suffering Liberians and the CPP have come to the SKD to inform President Weah that they are Taya Suffering.

Mr. Alexander Benedict Cummings amidst cheering supporters promised that when taking over the leadership of Liberia, he will seek to uphold the rule of law, create jobs, improve the Education of the country to address inadequacies of young people, seek emancipation for the disabled community, and revive once more Liberia’s dead Economy by massive private sector investment to provide equal opportunity for all regardless of tribal or political affiliation.

He said he want to be President for all Liberians, not certain groups of Liberians that are been done by President Weah and his boys which had led the country not to be represented at the International level.

He added that “We want a Liberia where all Liberians will be given the same opportunity, if you are supporting me to have the opportunity to get worth is not true”.

Cummings said the choice is in the hand of all Liberians to make President Weah a one-term President and he trust the Liberian people for that because they were the same person that elected him some five years back.

“Liberia is all we have as a Nation and people so let us all come together in the interest of Liberia”

He told Liberians that as they leave the SKD today they committed themselves to change the Country and to working hard to change our Country

“This is about the Liberian people and together we can make Liberia equal to any nation in the subregion”. CPP Political Leader Alexander B. Cummings told cheering supporters.
