Public Works Ministry Warns of Impersonation and Blackmail – Cautions Contractors

IPNEWS-Monrovia: The Ministry of Public Works is shocked at reports of blackmail and/or impersonation by a lady claiming to be Minister Ruth Coker-Collins who is continuously soliciting emoluments or kickbacks from Contractors.

A Public Works Ministry press release signed by its Director of Communications, Simon G. Gambleh says the Ministry therefore calls on the Office of the Solicitor General and other actors within the security apparatus to join in tracking down this blackmailer and accomplices.

Meanwhile, the Office of the Minister is cautioning Contractors against entertaining any illegal and unofficial verbal communication or acts orchestrated by anyone claiming to be the Minister of Public Works. “The Minister is not in the business of entertaining kickbacks from anyone, so Contractors are advised to take note, and not fall prey to dangerous elements,” the release stressed.

Concluding, the release quotes the Minister of encouraging Contractors to submit all contact details of this Impersonator for a full scale investigation to be conducted by the Liberia National Police.
