Over Sanction Documentary: Nathaniel McGill Runs from Aljazeera’s Team

—- Orders Arrest of Dr. Nykoi Jomah

IPNEWS: Credible sources have hinted that suspended Minister of States for Presidential Affairs, Nathaniel McGill, last evening turned down an earlier request to grant a visiting Aljazeera team for an interview.

According to trusted sources, prior to the Aljazeera team’s visit to Liberia, from its base in Doha, Mr. McGill had accepted to give his perspective on recent U.S. sanctions and how he was scapegoated by some members of the government inner circle.

I remain unclear about what led to the abrupt cancellation of the interview; however, the Aljazeera team is in town to document all aspects of the sanction and other information in keeping with the sanction.

Meanwhile, the Director of the Livestock Aquaculture & Fishery Program at the Central Agriculture Institute (CARI) has been arrested on the alleged order of suspended Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Mr. Nathaniel McGill.

Al Jazeera is a state-owned Arabic-language international radio and TV broadcaster of Qatar. It is based in Doha and operated by the media conglomerate Al Jazeera Media Network.

Meanwhile, late Wednesday, August 31, 2022, Dr. Nykoi Jomah on his official Facebook page wrote that he was arrested arbitrarily, humiliated, and detained in Gbartala on the order of OIC Victor Sumo, reiterating the comments that McGill doesn’t want him at CARI and should waive his salary.

It can be recalled on August 24, 2022, when Liberia celebrated its 175th National Flag Day, Dr. Nykoi Jomah was seen alone protesting in front of the United States Embassy in Monrovia.

In an interview with Independent Probe Newspaper, Dr. Jomah narrated that CARI currently owes him US $75,000 and 3 million Liberian dollars since 2020.

Dr. Jomah explained further that the refusal of the authority at CARI to pay him his just salary arrears stems from the fact that he (Dr. Jomah) blew the whistle on half of a million United States dollars that was sent by partners to be used in the fishery program at CARI under his leadership. He intimated that an attempt by the authority to exclude him as a signatory to the account exposed the intent of Madam Paula Findley, a very close confidante of Mr. McGill who was about to. Siphon the partner’s funding.

He alleged that Madam Findley is a fugitive for corrupt acts.

Dr. Jomah revealed that the current Officer in Charge at CARI, Victor Sumo asked him (Jomah) to waive his salary arrears of $75,000 and 3 million LRD, and if that was not the case, he Dr. Jomah should never dream of receiving his arrears and even stands to lose his job.

Flashback: Dr. Jomah protests before the US Embassy

Dr. Jomah whose protest coincided with that of the Students Unification Party (SUP) of the University of Liberia’s protest, told IPNEWS that Mr. Nathaniel McGill is still working from behind the scenes because he is using Victor Sumo to institute the ongoing lawsuit against him at the court in Gbartala City, Bong County.

Meanwhile, efforts aimed at getting the side of Mr. Victor Sumo, Officer in Charge at the Central Agriculture Research Institute, proved fruitless as his phone rang endlessly without any response.

According to Dr. Jomah, the case involving his salary arrears has been to court and they were advised to pay his money but to no avail because of what he described as a heavy hand being behind the matter, he averred. The Independent Probe has made frantic efforts in reaching Mr. McGill to no avail.   Seykajipo Amegashie writes; 0777594750/0880554136; Email.com seykajipoamegashie19@gmail.com
