ANC Suspends Youth Chairman for False Alarm

The Alternative National Congress (ANC) has suspended its National Youth Chairman, James Morris, with immediate effect, for a period of two months, for actions inimical to his status as a national leader of the party.

Mr. Morris’ suspension stems from his intentional neglect to disclose his whereabouts for more than 24 hours, which led his family to inform the ANC leadership that Mr. Morris was missing, thus prompting the party to raise a public alarm of a missing person, which turned out to be false, thereby bringing the party to public disrepute and ridicule. The ANC has described Mr. Morris’ conduct to be out of order and cautions him or any member of the party from such actions.

Meanwhile, the ANC leadership has appointed with immediate effect, Mr. Emerson Bordolo, current Vice Chairman for Political and International Affairs of the Indomitable National Youth Congress to take over as Acting National Chairman of the Indomitable National Youth Congress of the ANC.

It may be recalled, on August 13, 2022, Members of the opposition Alternative National Congress (ANC), are said to be in fear of the disappearance of their Youth Congress Chairman, James P. Morris.

In a statement by the ANC National Youth League, the Party stated that its chairman was last seen at the ANC Old Road Headquarters, commonly known as AHQ yesterday, August 12, around 6 pm, and has not been seen nor heard from since.

According to the ANC Youth Congress, their chairman, James P. Morris, has not been seen nor did he sleep at home.

Eyewitnesses last seen with James yesterday at the ANC Headquarters narrate that around 6pm they walked James to the HQ junction, near the Catholic junction, and put him in a commercial car.

Another eyewitness stated that James declined to have the others accompany him as he was going to an event on 18 Street. No information as to whom he was going to have been established.

When quizzed as to whether the police have been informed about the disappearance of their youth chairman, the ANC stated that the party is working with the Liberia National Police on the matter, including the identification of four unidentified bodies currently at J.F. K. in case of an eventuality.

In a few minutes, to the utmost dismay of the public on the Alternative National Congress’ declaration of missing National Youth Chairman, James P Morris, the ANC has shamelessly reported that its chairman has returned.

The ANC stated in a release that its chairman was out of coverage due to the loss of a power charger.

“We’ve just been notified by the family of James P Morris, our ANC National Youth Chairman that he has returned home safe and sound. James was out of communication because his phone had lost charge.”

“We want to thank everyone for raising the alarm and providing information to ascertain his whereabouts and ensure his safety. In these uncertain times, we have a responsibility to bring attention to any person who cannot be accounted for in a 24-hour period and err on the side of caution.”

“We are happy that James is at home with his family, and we want to thank the partisans of the ANC, the general public, and the government of Liberia through the Ministry of Justice and Ministry of State for their assistance in this matter.” The ANC statement read.
