Liberia – A Divided Nation — Says 175 National Flag Day Orator

IPNEWS-Monrovia: Liberia’s 175 National Flag Day orator Dr. Laurence K. Bropleh says Liberia has become a divided nation to the extent that people are tearing each other apart and fighting against each other in the way that only sets the stage to bring the country down on the basis of political differences.

Dr. Bropleh: “If we allow our political decisions, religious differences and other disagreements to continue to pull us apart rather than unit us, the consequences will be a broken society. If we allow disunity to put us against each other rather than embrace one another, the consequences will be the lack of development, economic growth, education, quality health care and prosperity for ourselves.”

He asserted that no one is more Liberian than the other. “So when we find ourselves awaken to the dawn of a new day, let’s try to peacefully move our nation forward and not backward; upward and not downward for the things that we say and do upon our nation and to each other.”

He noted that on a daily basis, citizens pledge allegiance to one flag and the nation for which it stands and they should not do this just for formality. “When we do it lets reflect deeply on how far we have come and where we opt to be as Africa first independent country.”

“We must feed positively on each other and not for ourselves but for our one flag, one nation, our one country Liberia. Let’s reflect a little bit putting aside politics and realized that with unity we can move faster together in the overall interest of our country.
