As the Miss Liberia 2022 Beauty Pageant ceremony takes place on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at the Centennial Memorial Pavilion in central Monrovia, the incumbent Miss Liberia since 2017, Ms. Wokie Dolo has departed the country, a press statement issued by her office in Friday, July 22, 2022 says.

Miss Dolo who is to turn over the crown that she won in 2017 to the would-be winner, said in the statement that her absence from the country is based on her career and current obligations to the Miss Earth Liberia Project.

Prior to her going, Miss. Dolo said that she officially communicated to the organizers of Miss Liberia 2022 of her absence from this year’s pageant.

“I wish I were consulted prior to my engagement of the date of the pageant so as to avoid conflict in my schedule and events”

Realizing the situations her absence may cause for such an occasion where her presence is needed most, she expressed her plight by saying, “I do understand the calls for me to be present, which I highly appreciate. But, unfortunately am already out of country on my existing engagement.”

She, however wish all of the contestants best of luck and hope that the best person win as the quality of contestants are remarkable.

She also promised to be available in due course to give the winner tips and ideas on how to handle the high level of responsibilities associated to Miss Liberia.

Miss Liberia Organizer Declares Presentation Stage Results Void

In a related development, XL-Entertainment, the organizer of Liberia prestigious pageantry Miss Liberia, has cancelled all results of its Presentation Stage.

The Project Presentation stage worth 20% of the total score and Miss Robina Carson of Nimba County accumulated 17.6% of the 20%, making her the highest for the July 20, 2022 pageant’s Project Presenter.

In a statement issued Thursday, July 21, 2022 in Monrovia, XL-Entertainment declared its results void due to mixed-public reactions of the announced results from supporters, on grounds that one of the panelists had a tie with one of the contestants.

According to the Miss Liberia organizer the move is intended to avoid any and all potential acts conflicting with the tenor, spirit and nationally & internationally accepted guidelines, rules and regulations of international pageantry.

XL-ENTERTAINMENT maintained that the crown is expected to be worn by a new Miss Liberia on Saturday July 23, 2022 at the historic Centennial Memorial Pavilion in Monrovia.
