Breaking News! Over 30K Chopping WAHALA: Rep. Acarous Gray Escapes Angry Mob

—As Police Arrest Four

IPNEWS: Liberia National Police last evening (Thursday) arrested four persons who allegedly mobbed Montserrado County Representative Acarous Moses Gray in Central Monrovia.

According to eyewitnesses, the District No. 8 lawmaker had gone to an intellectual forum when angry people from his constituent moved on him and allegedly attempted to beat him for receiving US$30,000 from the government.

The angry mob earlier quizzed him for the money and accused him of failing his constituent by allegedly taking bribes from the government.

Eyewitnesses disclosed the group was led by one James Naplah Foko who wants to unseat Rep. Gray. The gang insulted and mocked the Montserrado lawmaker and called him all sorts of names.

Eyewitnesses said Rep. Gray countered the allegations levied against him but was not enough to satisfy them.

They allegedly disrupted the gathering by throwing stones and attempting to beat him.  But police intervened and made four arrests.

Police spokesman, Moses Carter confirmed the incident  and said the four are being detained while undergoing investigation.

The man said to be the rank leader of the disgruntled youth, James Naplah Foko admitted those arrested were his supporters.

He however told a local radio that he was not present during the riot, but accused Rep. Gray of using his legislative power to repress those who elected him. (COURTESY OF SMART NEWS LIBERIA)
