Presbyterian Prelate Narrowly Escapes Death

—Rev. Willington Morgan Wants Gov’t Strengthen National Security
IPNEWS: Amidst mounting calls for increased Security for ordinary Liberians, the presiding Prelate of the First Presbyterian Church, conner of Broad and Johnson, narrowly escape death along the newly constructed Japanese highway.
Narrating his ordeal, Rev. Willington Morgan, told newsmen that the unforseen circumstance occured while returning from the Gardnesville vicinity visiting some sick and short-in members of the church.
Rev. Morgan stated that in consideration of the traffic, he boarded a tricycle, popularly known as kekar in Liberia, and moments thereafter two unknown men boarded the same kekar (tricycle) sandwiching him.
The Presbyterian Prelate said within minutes one of the passenger took out a knife demanding his mobile phone or they would kill him.
Rev. Morgan narrated that while in bitter exchanges with the two passengers, the attackers  pulled his phone and push him out of the kekar (tricycle) while speeding that landed his head against the middle divide along the Japanese highway, resulting into injuries at the back of his head and left arm and other parts of his body.

The popular Presbyterian Prelate lauded an early man and other residents of the once  somalia drive for coming to his rescue before the arrival of his wife who was previously at work.
Meanwhile, Rev. Willington Morgan, is calling for increase budgetary allocation for National Security, especially the Liberian National Police to vigorously strengthen security in Liberia.
“It is time for President George Weah, to increase and place more focused on national security. Liberians are volnerable and this is no politics but a genuine call.”
” while I may not know my attackers, yet as a minister of the Gospel of Christ, I pray for them to leave the life of attacking innocent people, including other  negative engagements to seek the Lord Jesus Christ for fulfilling life.” Rev. Willington Morgan told reporters on Sunday.

In a related development, barely a day following what appears to be the gruesome murder of Ms. Princess Cooper in the vicinity of ELWA Junction, and subsequent release of a“Preliminary Report”, by the Liberian National Police establishing “No Foul Play”, the Senator Kanrnga Liberty Party faction of the Liberty Party has questioned the authenticity of the LNP report. In a release issue in Monrovia, signed by Jacob Smith, Secretary General, states that there are high public speticeism about the report amidst graphic scenes showing blood stains on the walls of the fence by which the lifeless body of Ms. Cooper was found, far away from her residence.

The scenes also present evidence of how the deceased may have been dragged to the spot.

“So, what are we to believe? Did Ms. Cooper voluntarily walk herself to that spot and ended her own life? Did the Police care to do test of finger prints? Did Ms. Cooper have a phone with her, and, did the Police do an investigation of her call log? If no phone was found with her, did the Police establish from family sources any evidence of the deceased owning a phone? If the phone was not with her at the time her body was discovered, what may have happened to the phone?”

“Liberty Party believes these are some controlling questions, the answers to which could have presented some clues as to whether there was foul play or not. By proceeding with such a 5G speed investigation, and arriving at an almost settled opinion in yet another case that has become commonplace in our society, the Police has not only undermined its integrity, but has also reinforced what is now crystalized in public debates that murder cases in this regime will forever remain unsolved.Even as we prepared to send this statement to press, the Police itself has released additional information regarding the mysterious death of Melvin Togba, a resident of Jallah Town.” The Liberty Party release narrated.

It may be recalled, Melvin’s body, according to the Police, was found in his room with “minor bruises on his face.”

In a related development, residents of Johnsonville and Fiama in Sinkor, have reported the discoveries of the bodies of two unidentified persons, one a young man and the other a young lady, in the early morning hours of Saturday, March 26, 2022.

The Liberty Party said these are ‘alarming developments that require serious attention. We are reminded about several other cases of murders counting up to 20, and inclusive of four auditors, since the inception of this government.’

“All promises of investigation to bring the culprits to book, have all hit the rock.To say the least, these incidences and their poor management, are abysmally an indictment on the image of our country, and certainly a disincentive for the building of investors’ confidence.”

“The Police and other national security institutions must therefore come to the realization that a national security philosophy, rather than a narrow inclination to protect individuals over the state, must serve as our guide in the exercise of our respective national duties. As a Political Party with a female Political Leader, but more so, an institution that has always been a towering voice in the defense of law and order, Liberty Party calls on the Police to now prove wrong the prevailing negative perceptions of its professionalism and integrity concerning these and previous murder cases. We cannot imagine how much a heart wrenching experience it was, as in the case of Princess Cooper, in particular, when her family members heard that their daughter’s potential murderer (s) may just be going unnoticed, thereby throwing her case into oblivion.”

“The Police must therefore move with every deliberate speed and maximum tenacity to unpack the mysteries surrounding the many deaths, beginning now with the ones that have taken place over the last 24 hours.” The Liberty Party faction release noted.
