Sen. Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence LP-Faction Expels Musa Hassan Bility and Martin Saye Kollah

IPNEWS: The deepening rift within the opposition Liberty Party is yet near resolution. Over the weekend, the faction of Liberty Party headed by Lofa County Senator, Steve Zago, hosted a special session at its Grand Bassa County Headquarters in the Port City of Buchanan, expelled Messrs. Musa Hassan Bility, Chairman and Martin Saye Kollah, the Secretary General for  violation of the party’s Constitution, including the suspension of other Executive Committee Members and chairpersons for aiding and abetting.

The Steve Zago faction of the LP stated that it will also begin investigation of the suspended Chairpersons of the Counties, and ordered their Deputies or Secretary Generals to act.

The special session stated that the Executive Council further confirmed the nomination of the Political Leader for the position of Vice Chair for Legislative Affairs on the National Elections Commission (NEC), including the authorization for the withdrawal of Liberty Party’s Membership from the Collaborating Political Parties (CPP).

Additionally, the special session directed the National Executive Committee, in consultation with the Political Leader decide a Special National Convention before the close of 2022, with a detailed Financial Plan presented for deliberation and endorsement.
