LLA Launches Revolutionize Survey

IPNEWS-Monrovia: The Liberia Land Authority (LLA) officially launches the Continuously Operation Stations (CORS) for the first time at University of Liberia Fendell Campus to revolutionize surveying system in the country.

According to LLA, their new system is set up to monitor the land demarcation in the greater Monrovia, Margibi and Bomi counties respectively.

Speaking at the launching ceremony at Fendell Campus, the Commissioner for Land Administration Department, Mr. Josephus Burgee Sr. said, their new CORS system is fully digitalized to collect all land-related data and reduce or eradicate Land disputes across the country.

He continued as, both private and public surveyors will commence their operations by using the Continuously Operation Reference Stations and all data collected in the field will be safe for easier identification by the public.

โ€œAny surveyors neither public nor private are urge to learn how to use the CORS system or will never be allowed to conduct survey any longer” the Commissioner for Land Administration Mr. Josephus Burgee Sr. noted.

Meanwhile, the Director for Land Department, Mr. C. Sylvester N. Bundoo stated their new technological system is supported by the Liberia telecommunications network and powered by solar system and can cover as far as 50 kilometers from its station.

He noted that, the system will revolutionize the surveying sector and improve the accuracy to coordinate Land ownership across the country.

He however stated, they have completed the training of 20 professionals to operate the CORS system prior to its launch and will subsequently train every surveyor in Liberia to their new technological system.

According to him, the project cost about US$80,000.00 and is fully sponsored by the World Bank.

The Director for Land Department Mr. C Sylvester N. Bundoo noted, they are working on modalities to decentralize the CORS system across the country as soon as possible.
