The reported cracks within the CPP, following threats by CPP chairman and political leader of the Alternative National Congress (ANC) Alexander Cummings to quit the party if his quest to lead the CPP as its standard bearer for the 2023, general and Presidential elections.

Highly placed sources within the CPP, tells IPNews that the misgivings by Alexander Cummings’ comes after he detected a new wave of political backslaving over an overwhelming consensus by members of the CPP to endorse former Vice President Joseph Boakai as the CPP presidential candidate for 2023, general and presidential elections.

The suspected endorsement of the former vice president Boakai according to the sources stamp from the lack show of political control and intuition exhibited by the CPP chairman Alexander Cummings, calling for a boycutt of the December 8, 2020, midterm Senatorial elections and the referendum which nearly cost the CPP so much before a last minutes resurrection by senator elect Abraham Darius Dillon, that all turnout and vote No to the Referendum.
