IPNews-Grand Gedeh County: A man has killed his four months old pregnant woman in Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County. The gruesome incident occurred in the Car Center Community on September 22 at about 1:30 AM by Melvin Teah.

According to Augustine Teah brother of Suspect Melvin Teah “Melvin murdered Florence because of jealousy”.

Augustine Teah, said Melvin went to his house along with his four years old son at about 2 a.m. on the night of the incident and told him (Augustine) that he (Melvin) and his woman (Florence) had confusion and the woman put him out of the house asking his brother for his four years old son (Aaron) to pass the night there. It happened after he (Melvin) had already killed his woman.

Augustine Teah continued that it was his brother (Suspect Melvin Teah) four years old son (Aaron) who revealed the story that his father killed his mom during a fist fight with a kitchen knife.

Florence Julue, 27, and the suspect had been in a relationship for over five years. They currently have a six-month-old child, according to family sources.

It was reported that Melvin gave his late wife forty thousand Liberian dollars to establish business, which she (Florence) had gone to Janzon in Niao Clan, Cavalla District to purchase goods and stayed there over five days; something that attracted Melvin’s attention to go there and return the next morning to Zwedru.
Following the incident, he escaped while a serious man hunt in Grand Gedeh County was launched for him.

After scopes of days in the county, suspect Melvin Teah was arrested by the joint security of the county in the Ivory Coast upon a security intelligent on Thursday September 24 and is currently in Police custody in Zwedru where he is undergoing investigation.

Meanwhile, scores of residents of Zwedru took the street to celebrate the arrest of Melvin with most calling for his speedy prosecution.
Women and Human Rights Activists in the county have condemned the act and calling on the justice system to probe the matter.

Grand Gedeh, like Maryland County, is known for unwanted and unprecedented killings with the south east of Liberia.
