Rape is indeed a situation left undone in Liberia’s new dispensation, even Ellen Johnson Sirleaf who was very firmed on the matter could not have it resolved. Legislations were passed and implementation remained poor.

Has the CDC government done a lot about it? No! Was progress made under Ellen? No! Could we make progress this time? YES.

However, the current faces of the struggle for emancipating our people from this growing giant should be immediately resisted as they remain key perpetrators of what they portray themselves as fighting against today.

The Ureys? I puah; history remains entrenched with how Benoni Urey, Maritime Boss under convict Charles Taylor, used tax payers’ dollars to fund war and economic situation on Liberians.

Atleast two hundred fifty thousand persons lost their lives due to his action of buying guns, drugging kids and raping girls while his kids who led recent rape protest were studying in Ivy League schools abroad as their victims lived and continue to be in abject poverty.

When did the Ureys become heroes for Liberians, their mother Mai Bright Urey, father served as Finance Minister under one of Liberia’s longest serving Presidents where the family milked the country at the detriment of poor peasants.

Then came their father Benoni Urey, who now sits in opulence in Careysburg and sponsoring these kids to plunge the nation into chaos for selfish political reasons. Da today he wants to change Liberia like heaven, well he even seized his family land up Careysburg and has since plunged the rest of his siblings into begging him for survival.

‘Redeemer Urey’ has never been a humanitarian but arm dealer and economic vampire who sucked Liberians of their economic blood during the decades of civil crisis. In fact he still sucks the nation through his Lonestar cell GSM very high tariffs for a third world nation.

The Ureys cannot be the faces of what could be one of Liberia’s biggest and successful causes by genuine actors, their history reminds us all of the dark days of the civil war and that’s why with millions invested in District Fifteen, Abu Kamara of CDC beat another Urey like ‘Market dog.’

How can Liberians forget so soon, that despite the issues confronted with the CDC government, the Ureys can at no point in time be considered as redeemers for this generation, except for those who don’t know their history. Well, we are not too young to know how fresh and chaotic a Urey sounds in the ears.

A UN panel report on Liberia described Urey as an arm purchaser for Charles Taylor, who used these arms to perpetrate violence, arm child soldiers and most especially rape women and children. For ten years he had to be stuck on a UN travel ban for wanton abuse of power and state resources, how soon do we forget!!!

How can a Urey today, instead of seeking forgiveness from Liberians, parade in the corridors of our country as some clean folks up for redemption of the same generation left to fend for themselves and lose their livelihood including parents and siblings.

All they did in Liberia in the last three days was to show up their material, financial and political influence dominated by cash. In fact youthful and zealous opposition should be asking themselves, why don’t the ill-gotten wealthy millionaire use sincere opposition cadres to implement his fame game but his own kids all the time? Is it that the Ureys only trust themselves? Last time Telia Urey ran on ALP, Danielle Urey replaced her father as Board Chair of MTN Liberia while Benita, the naked queen dishes millions nationwide to organize protest!!! It always has to be a Urey, nothing more or less.

I saw protests in Maryland, Bassa and Bong amongst others, fully cash driven with no sign of one victim of rape anywhere to actually show the world what’s happening in the country; interestingly, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf another elite war monger like Urey whose history of carnage and destruction is glaring came up to charm the crowd. U kidding me, these people still have the guts to come out acting clean???

The Ureys can keep spending on the population in efforts to destabilize the peace as this is all they have known in decades, to create chaos and benefit thereof, they aren’t coming a foot near the Presidency or leadership of Liberia anymore, over our dead bodies!!!

Let those kids, Telia, Benita and others go nurse their frustrations as their parents’ history and ill-gotten wealth since ruin their chances to be any voice of conscience in Liberia.

It’s disgusting to think Ureys are any moral voice in Liberia to overshadow genuine causes, now is the time for Liberians to open their eyes as the elites are regrouping, we have to stand together.
