IPNews-Monrovia: Violence erupted late last evening in the provisional city of Totota, Bong County between supporters of Senator Henry Yallah and Political Activist,Menipakei Dumoe.

According to our reporters from the central Liberia region, eyewitness on condition of not wanting their names called, informed IPNews reporter that supporters of Senatorial hopeful Menipakei Dumoe, were attacked after scores of men wearing red berrect riding  in a speeding vehicle chanting pro-Henry Yallah songs attacked them at a local bar called Richmond Business center, where they had gone for a drink.

The eyewitnesses informed our reporter that a man identified as Amos Kollie, who is believed to be the leader of Henry Y’allah’s campign team in Totota kicked and burst bottles on the Table of the pro- Menipakei Doumoe, campaign team resulting into physical and dangerous weapon display.

Eyewitness further narrates that the Yallah supporters throw stones and move on supporters of Dumoe violently leaving serious injuries of some of its mobilization team member while others taken to central Gbarnga due to the closer of the Phebe medical Center.

Amos Kollie, Henry Yallah, alleged Totota campaign leader, is said to be on the run including others.

When contacted, Senatorial hopeful Menipakie Doumoe, termed the incident as worrisome and call on Senator Henry Yallah to do more in keeping  the ensuing elections civil and in a free Democratic space.

Doumoe who had been in Bong County vagariously engaging various town and villages told IPNews via mobile phone that he has filed  formal complaint to the Totota detail of the Bong County, Police detachment, for prompt investigation.

Doumoe stated that the path of violence is not the best option for redeeming Bong County, especially during this new dispensation

When contacted, Senator Henry Yallah expressed surprised at the report and denied having a Yallah-team coordinator called Amos Kollie.

Senator Yallah stated that he has no knowledge and holds very good relationship with cross section of citizens in Totota ,Bong County, and wonders why no one has reported the incident.

When our reporter contacted the Totota detail, of the Liberia National Police head of Operations, identified as Peter Neh, confirmed the report of last evening incident, however, stated that pepetrators are on the run and police will ensure a speedy investigation into the matter as soon as the alleged culprits are identified.
