DISENCHANTMENT SOARS WITHIN THE RULING CDC, AS BREAK AWAY FACTION ACCUSES PRES. WEAH OF INSENSITIVITY

IPNews-Monrovia: President George Weah, has been accused by some members of his own party of losing his way and the goodwill that propelled him to the presidency.

In a release from its command center, the aggrieved Cidicians said, the president is out of touch, because he has surrounded himself with sycophants and corrupt parasites, who have hijacked what was supposed to be the people’s presidency.

Some have bluntly decried Mr. Weah’s property splurge , unchecked power and his refusal to break away from the old cleavages of the past and/ or muster the courage to do what the people yearned for are the real problems.

Most members are outraged on grounds that Mr. Weah has refused to create an environment of truth telling, but has encouraged and built a network of liars and hypocrites.

As disenchantment soars within the ruling CDC led government of president Weah, a break away faction, calling themselves Green Revolution, has accused the Weah’s administration of corruption, greed and a high wave of insensitivity to members, who sacrificed during the 2017 election to make the party to win.

Varney Kromah, acting Chairman of the new political movement, averred that President Weah has abandoned and neglected 90% of partisans, comprising the party’s structure that sacrificed to put him where he is today.

In a written statement, Mr. Kromah accused president Weah and his cronies of maltreating Cidcians.

The chairman of the Green Revolution noted, that the huge level of ingratitude and arrogance shown to partisans by President Weah was unacceptable.

He said , it’s unthinkable that the CDC manifesto, was deviated by President Weah and cronies who are rushing to aquire wealth at the detriment of the poor citizens.

According to the newly formed Green Revolution , since the coalition victory in 2017, they are still confused regarding the yardstick President Weah and former chairman McGill used to form the government.

“Taking into consideration our various structures and our quest for leadership sustainability, and considering the percentage of the current CDC government, 95.9% of all those appointed in our government are not from the various structures of the three parties and such, their appointments are not been felt by the masses .

This has led to the issue of DISENCHANTMENT, something which greatly manifested in the defeat we experienced in our own back yard, during the Montserrado county by- election.

The forming of our government was harsh, criminal and wrong, using me as a case study, the group’s chairman averred”.

He lamented further by saying: “It is practically impossible now a day for us to get to our people. Our conditions has moved from castigation to unbearable conditions as we have lost relevance in our various constituents.

Of recent, we have experienced the highest level of family seperations, our childrens are out of schools, our land Lords are on our necks for their rentage, we have become mear beggars in our own labour.

The president has repeatedly told us that there are jobs all over the place, but in practicality, the jobs are only for those outsiders and their associates, the President and his cronies brought in the government”

-No need for President Weah to Re-contest in 2023-

The disenchanted members of CDC , have sounded a caveat to President Weah, warning him not to seek re-election in 2023, because according to them, his defeat will be so embarrassing.

“The same way we sincerely supported him all those years with our own resources, that’s the same way we are going to fight him intellectually with all his mis performance and mis governance for three years now.

Why should we continue to denigrate our people as if we are their God? This was not the idea of the grass roots revolution, or was this the same deceipt we have been suffering from all those years”, Mr Kromah concluded.

With three more years to the conduct of presidential and legislative elections in Liberia, the break away group from the CDC, have outlined what they consider as failures of this administration, reasons while president Weah must not be re-elected.

-Below are the followings-
1. Failed costal defense system.

2.Nigerian professors coming to Liberia, failed.
3. Turning of Bali Island into a resort, failed.
4. The Resource swap deal with China, Zero.
5. The Billionaires from UAE coming to invest, failed
6. The Costal highway, failed
7. The Ebomaf loan deal, Failed.
8. The French Pres. coming to Liberia, failed.
9. The Israeli Apple farm deal in Liberia could not worked
10. The President and his cronies acquiring wealtg at the detriment of the poor people
11. The President abrogating our constitution by appointing a none Liberian citizen to head our national election commission
12. The President practically failing to reconcile the country as his own party has been at the center of division.
13. The President immaturity in governing the state as most of his utterances are all divisive, degrading and not workable.

McGill undermining the party?

It has been alledeg that Mr. Nathaniel McGill, Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, is undermining the party, because he wasn’t allowed to serve as both chairman and minister.

It’s also said that Mr. McGill has allegedly commercialized the appointments of individuals in government.

A source who beg on the condition of anonymity said, the current chairman of the party, Mulbah Morlu, is being marginalized by Mr. McGill and others, with the evil intent of making him unpopular among party’s members.

All attempts to get comments from both Mr. McGill and Morlu were fruitless.

-CDC Chairman on Similar Disenchantment-

Few months ago, the chairman of CDC, Mulbah Morlu, in a Press Conference burst into anger and spoke truth to power.

Mr. Morlu who didn’t mince his words said, It was embarrassing and shameful for the socio-economic disparity to continue to widen between the haves and have-nots, while they are expected to remain silent.

The ruling party chair lamented further: “The CDC cannot and will not remain silent if the problems it stood against yesterday begin to resurface in the governance corridors of today.

We cannot forget so soon that the existence of this government is a product of the many years of sacrifice, commitment and selfless resilience of millions of ordinary Liberians who simply desire good governance and a departure from the political excesses of the past.

Amidst the plethora of challenges across the country, our people still remain hopeful that we will rise to seize the moment and make the difference for our people and country; let us not let the people down”, Mr. Morlu said.

It would be foolhardy to think that the CDC-led government, which rose to popular political power on the mantra of change, will effect change while working with the same political spoilers and corrupt policymakers that are most likely susceptible to the influences of the former government.

The time is now for a radical shift where the leadership needs to ensure that competent and qualified members of the tripartite Coalition are fully reflected in the governance process; the inclusion of competent and qualified members of the tripartite Coalition for Democratic Change ( i.e. NPP. LPDP, Congress for Democratic Change & Collaborating Political Parries) would inject new energy and give a boost to the governing process since in fact, we bear the major responsibility for the implementation of the Pro-Poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development (PAPD).”

Members of the Green Revolution, chose to disengage with the CDC, because according to them, it was disgusting that they have been neglected, despite their sacrifices made to the party’s victory.

While it remains unknown, whether or not president Weah is paying attention to dissatisfaction from his members within his party, public opinions are split down the line over the agitation of jobs by Cidicians.

Some say it’s bad, because Liberia is not for only CDC partisans, while on the other hand, there’s a counter arguement that politic is interest, and those who suffered for the party must enjoy.

Admist all the pandemonium, and the anti- incumbent sentiments against president Weah, only his final score card in 2023 will determine his stay in office.
